Although I knew it was going to happen it is still hard to say good bye to President Hinckley. He inspired, loved, and guided so many to stand a little taller. I will miss his cane waving and humor but am grateful for how we are all a little better because of his life and service.

Our Prophet held on as does a trees last leaf
To give his people a clear strategy.
Built on Gods instruction, and if we have the faith.
He's blessed us with strength to do as the Lord sayeth.
Hes taught us of Jesus Christ,
And of his light to guide.
Hes led us to Jesus Christ.
To see us through our time.

Sad in one sense, but joyful now that he will be with his beloved wife. I am sad for all of us, but happy for President Hinckley.

What a great loss the world has suffered. He was a wonderful man and an inspiring leader. But I am sure that he is happy today while the rest of us mourn his passing. May President Monson and the rest of our leaders feel our prayers and have their burdens lifted as they deal with this great loss.

What a great man & wonderful example of obedience to Heavenly Father's will! Over the last years, I've grown to love this special man, a prophet of God, for all that he has done in the upbuilding of our Heavenly Father's kingdom here on the earth!
Thank you so much, President Hinckley! You will be greatly missed by myself (& many others)!

A friend told me this sad news through Massenger this morning; what a great LOSS! Tears came to my eyes as I read through these news articles...He was so vibrant that I felt he could keep living forever! President Hinkley will be missed so dearly!!! It's good to know that he died so peacefully though and he's reunited with his dear wife at God's side.
Dave Walker | 8:24 a.m. Jan. 28, 2008
What an amazing man and Prophet! The impact he made on my life as well as millions of others will be remembered forever. For him, there was only one way to do things, and that was the right way. I just want to take this chance to say goodbye and thank him for his life. I love him and will miss him, but he's once again with the girl of his dreams.

He was a great prophet and lived an honest life - that is the most thing for Rob and I to live an honest life.

A devoted sister, raised under another great prophet, David O. McKay, I say President Hinkley, you will remain a great inspiration, a leader and a great prophet. You are with our families in heaven, your dear wife and family members, my blessed grandfather, Mariner W. McNeil, my grandmother, my mother, Afton, her sisters and my father, my nephew D.J., and my dear sweet Mac. Take care all, we will be together again, I testify to that, in God's presence. Amen.

We love you President Hinckley, thank you.

Times like this the heart is so full that words cannot express the depth of ones feelings. I know he is truly a great man of God, a Prophet. Thank goodness for his life and all he stood for and all he taught. He will never be truly gone because he will remain in our thoughts and our heart here. May we all be worthy to be where he is when it is our time to go.

I feel emptiness and sadness at President Hinckley's passing, but joy at the thought that he is now reunited with his beloved wife. This prophet and man of God was a huge inspiration to me to do better in my life. He seemed immortal to me and I wish he could be with us forever, although I began to sense his mortality during his remarks at the Christmas Devotional. I know President Hinckley is happy to be with Heavenly Father and He is happy to have our beloved President Hinckley back home. What an incredible prophet our world has been blessed with!

I just feel happy today: Happy he didn't have to lie in bed for a year waiting to die, happy he is reunited with his sweet wife, and happy he was the prophet my kids grew up with.

What an outstanding example of class and dignity. I don't feel this is an issue about religion, but the state of Utah lost a wonderful advocate and world lost a humanitarian who probably did more for other people while he was Prophet than the United States has done in the past 50 years. I don't care if you believe in his faith or share the same opinions as members of the church but everyone should show the same amount of class and dignity that Gordon would show anyone else during a difficult time.

We celebrate and stand as witnesses of a life well lived in the service of God and mankind.
Let us honor his legacy by carrying on and seeing this great work through.
May God bless our Prophet and his family for his service to us all.
Thank You President Hinckley for drawing us closer to God.

Sinto uma tristeza em meu corao pela perda do profeta, um grande homem. Seu semblante me transmitia uma paz, e seu sorriso uma segurana, que no necessitava de palavras para sentir o espirito.

It's a sad news. He was a great prophet of the Lord and he was an instrument of the Lord to bless to Church members throught of little temple's reveletion. I thank to God for the President Hinckley.

President Hinckley lived his life as if in the image of Savior. President Hinckley will live on in me,as I live to be more like our Savior. I love President Hickley for that. What a great Prophet and Sear.I know that he will be working for us,with his beloved Marjorie, on the other side of the veil. That is just the kind of man he is. You are loved beyond measure.

We mourn the loss of this great man and leader of the church but rejoice in his reunion with his family and colleagues. We offer condolences to his family as they mourn together with many around the world both inside and outside the church.

"Families can be together forever."

We read the Book of Mormon with him in 2005 and were blessed as we did it.

We are very thankful for his influence on our lives in many ways and I can hear him in my mind saying as it seemed he often said to the media about the teachings of the church, "Isn't it wonderful!"

President Hinckley was a great example of how to live, whethere you were of the LDS faith or not. It was remarkable how he could make friends no matter of religion, status in life, or knowledge. It was amazing that he could easily make friends with anybody regardless of if they were LDS, Catholic, or even Atheist. He will be greatly missed by the entire church, but can you imagine the reception he must have received in heaven?! He was a great man who was loved and will be very dearly missed by millions.

He has done so much for the going forth of the gospel to the world. I am so grateful for the courage and dedication to seek out those who haven't heard the gospel and to enrich their lives, and bring them joy. His sense of humor will be missed, but the memories will be in our hearts forever. He has the pure love of christ that he showed at all times, in all things, and in all places. He is at peace and is rejoicing with all those who have been blessed by his work on this earth.
James in Maine | 8:46 a.m. Jan. 28, 2008
He was a man that epitomized all that everyman should wish to emulate. Regardless if you are a member of the Church or not, he was and is a great role model.

For Members of the Church, say a prayer for whomever is next in line to fill a pair of shoes which may not be able to be adequately filled.

For non-members of the Church, as am I, pray that the next President is one who serves in such an admirable manner as did Mr. Hinckley. One who attempted to bridge the gap between members and non-members. One who may strive, with God's blessings , to be a role model for all men.

God Speed, Mr. Hinckley, God Speed.

At BYU's graduation this past April, what a treat to be sitting there, and have the Prophet walk in with Vice-President Cheney. We were able to stand and clap and cheer for our beloved Prophet. He truly made us want to be better, and for that we are grateful. Thank for for your example of service. Thank you for your love. Thank you, Hinckley family, for sharing him with us for so many years. Our prayers are with the leaders of the church. They have our love and support.

President Hinckley is the only prophet that I can remember in my life. I loved him and appreciated his great sense of humor and ability to connect with the people of the world. I am so grateful to have had the priviledge of living while he was the prophet. My sympathies go out to his family and to all of us who loved him. Let us not forget his great teachings and honor him by living in the way in which he so gloriously exemplified.

Pres Hinkley was a great man to look up to...I was able to see him in Greenville, NC when he came to visit at the campus of ECU. It will always be a day that I will never forget. Our family is sad to know he is gone, but know he is with his sweet wife and eternal companion.
