We feel sadness for the loss of our beloved Prophet but feel comforted by the
knowledge that he is now reunited with his eternal companion. He can now
continue the work on the other side of the veil.

In 2002, we were able to attend the last dedicatory session of the Nauvoo
temple. My 10-year-old daughter's heart's desire at Nauvoo was to meet
and shake hands with the prophet, which we didn't think very likely.
The day following the dedication, we returned to the temple to take pictures. When we arrived, President and Sister Hinckley were exiting the temple. Among all that crowd behind the barricade, Sister Hinckley noticed my daughter, nudged her husband, and said, "Aren't you going to shake that little girl's hand?" President Hinckley walked toward my daughter, invited her past the barricade, and took her hand in his. He asked her name, and then asked where she was from. When she told him she was from Utah, he looked surprised, raised an eyebrow and, with a twinkle in his eye, exclaimed, "Utah! Where's that?"

Pres Hinkley will always be the prophet of my youth. I will never forget his
example, resolve, love, work ethic, faith, and admonitions as the Lords prophet
here on earth. His efforts have touched, and will continue to touch, the lives
of millions. I will greatly miss him.

walk the walk everyday in everyway..not just general conference ..then back to
your ways. that's what brings your good church down. times are changing
fast and nature is giving her warning, look for what this man was trying to help
with. pray , help each other along the way. Just look at SLC and how vast it has

I am saddened for our loss of a wonderful Prophet, Seer, and Revelator, but
rejoice in knowing that he was well recieved by Heavenly Father and Jesus
Christ, and his family. My prayers go to his family here on earth that the Lord
will bless them with peace. I know that the Lord will direct the Elders of the
Church in confirming our new Prophet, Seer and Revelator.
How wonderful it is to have a small taste of how many people of this world loved him. What a great idea it would be to record everyone's comments and be able to present it to Pres. Hinckley's family. So that their generations to come will know what a wonderful man he is and was.

We will miss him so much but I know that he is doing fine. He must be very happy

What a kind, giving, loving Prophet. He always gave of himself in the
Lord's work. After all these years of working for the Lord, how
appropriate that he was called home to the Lord on the Sabbath. The Lord's

What a wonderful lifetime of devotion and example. He will be so missed but so
remembered. Our prayers are with his precious family who supported and shared
him with the entire world. Our prayers are also with our new church leadership.
May the many who will hear of the passing President Hinckley have a greater
desire to learn the goodness and peace that comes from hearing and following the
words of a living prophet.

Wow....one thousand comments so far, and not one of them is unusual or
interesting. Just cliches....a mish-mash of words like "wonderful" and
"will be missed" and stuff like that. I posted an interesting comment
earlier this evening, but I knew there was no way that it (or this) would be
posted...Because it is unusual, and it is interesting.
As for Gordon B. Hinckley, he now realizes how many Mormons are actually pretentious fakers...pseudo-Mormons....he notices that out of one thousand comments here so far, not one single one them mentions the Book of Mormon.

President Hinckley was truly a prophet of God. We are very grateful and been
truly blessed to have lived in a time of his dedicated service to members of the
Church worldwide. We have been inspired in many ways by his leadership and
guidance, and especially studying his many inspired talks in general
conferences. You will be greatly missed by many who have come to love and honour
you Pres. Hinckley. Your teachings and words of counsel will stay with us

I am not LDS, but I so admired President Hinckley and I was greatly saddend to
read this news. I was drawn to him by his wit and kindness and know that he is
now in the arms of God.

Few hours ago, Italy has learned about President Hinckley's death. The
Saints in this troubled country will miss him greatly. His firm guidance,
loving heart, zest for life and all-around Christ like example has reached this
part of the world with constant and reassuring devotion.
His leadership has left a permanent mark in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to listen to his voice.
The joy of knowing of his reunion with his beloved wife and with our Savior, illuminates our future steps and gives us the courage to go forward. Nevertheless we will all miss his dear smile and guidance. Thank you President Hinckley, we love you!

Thank you President Hinckley. As a youth he is the only one I will have many
memories of him. When I heard this last night I instantly was filled with tears.

What startling news, I guess that we thought he would just keep going for ever.
The world has suffered a great loss, but have been so blessed to have had this
wonderful selfless man and prophet of the Lord with us. What a model of

I am both broken hearted at President Hinckley's death and grateful for his
life. He left this world a better place than he found it, and the world mourns
his loss.
My favorite personal memory of him was in NYC at Radio City when the performing LDS youth, not wanting him to leave, spontaneously began singing "God be with You." Pres. Hinckley stopped his exit, turned around, and led the singing with his cane. We all felt loved.

His teachings were powerful and life changing. His life is an example to all
mankind. Though we miss You President, we dont regret because your life was
wonderfully spent. A true prophet of a true and restored church of our Lord and

It was his eyes that verified to me, almost a year ago now, that this church and
gospel are not only true, but also gave me the resounding answer that yes, this
church is truely led by a Prophet of God. I will always feel like President
Hinckley was my prophet, the one there specially for me to answer tough
questions like this. I have a great sense of peace in my faith that he is where
he needs to be right now and that the next prophet that is called will carry on
from where he left off.

Gordon B Hinckley looked at life with faith and confidence. He quoted often II
Tim 1.7 that God has not given us the spirit of fear but of faith and of a sound
mind. Each person who lives here on earth stands for something whether good or
evil. Pres Hinckley stood for consistency to DO the Lord's work as he was
called forth to do (Jhn 15.16). His life, when younger, was forged out of the
Depression Era. His children remember how he chronicled life in ref to the
Depression Era and I think that lead to his optimism that things could always be
worse than they are today as he reflected on harder times. He was one to turn
his heart to his fore bearers and to remember them as he exemplified back in
1997 at the 150 yr celebration of the pioneers into the SL Valley during the
days of 1847. He would want us each of us to step out into the STIFF wind of
opportunity rather than to just hunker down and do nothing. Each of the 15
prophet's lives, in this dispensation, is like a favorable Westerly wind
for each of us, rAm

As I sit here the tears run down my cheeks for the loss of a man who has been
the standard of life. I know that other great men called by the Lord will take
his place but his loss leaves a great hole in my life. I have seen many prophets
come and go in my life, each one leaving a great legacy but President Hinckley
has given much to church members and to the world that has made it a better
place for all of us. I love you President Hinckley.

I am so grateful to have lived under his guidance and leadership. I am very
happy that he is reunited with his beloved wife. How joyous their reunion. God
