profoundly changed my life and always motivated me to be a better person. Your

as well as those from all over the world mourn deeply the loss of our beloved
Prophet! He has gone to a much deserved rest and reunion with sweetheart and
other loved ones, and we are happy for that, but what a hole is left in our
hearts, nevertheless! The world seems to be a little off-kilter today. We ever
pray for Thee, Our Prophet Dear!

President Gordon B. Hinckley has been the prophet of my youth. I was surprised
by his passing but have reflected on many of the things I've learned from
him. I remember the day he was sustained. It was nearly thirteen years ago, and
I was only eleven years old. My heart is filled with happiness thinking about
what a man he is! He truly was a prophet and spoke the words of the Lord.
I'll pray lots for his family and the apostles!

Your father and grandfather and everything he was to you was a great leader.
His wife was a wonderful, intelligent woman. We're descendants of the
pioneers in a unique valley as well. President Hinckley stood for everything
pure and good and right and wise. He was understanding and compassionate and
Marjory was a splendid lady. Certainly they are happy beyond measure and
certainly their spirits call to ours. Adulation is a word I learned from
President Hinckley in describing a more pure love for Marjory and I say to
anyone absent of adulation that Gordon B. Hinckley was your friend whether you
knew it or not - He love you because he loved all of God's children and his
life means something to you whether you know it or not. There is a God in the
universe who knows all things and he knows you and he knows him. His life is
such an example of hard work and dedication and moving 'forward with
faith' in the construction of temples and so many other great works. We

I was shocked to hear the news. I will truly miss President Hinckley. What a
great man! What a wonderful example he has been to the world. My families

This man, chosen of the Lord, inspired millions of people for good and brought
so many to Christ. Undoubtedly, he is enjoying a sweet reunion with his dear
Marjorie and many other family members and leaders. The Lord, in a way that I
cannot totally explain, gave him the gift of sharing his love in a manner in
which each individual felt as if they intimately knew him personally. I look
forward to the day when I can shake his hand and thank him personally for
teaching me about our Savior Jesus Christ.

To me and many of my generation, President Hinckley was "our prophet"
-- loved, honored, and revered much like Brother Joseph was to those of his day.
How we will miss him. Let us all commit to living as he taught us: to always
strive to be better and to be a little kinder to everyone, regardless of
religion or circumstance. That would truly honor his memory.

Our condolences to the Hinkley family for the passing of your loved one. So sad
for many of us but much joy for those that have passed on before us. Thank you
for allowing him to serve the Lord in such great capacity, and for becoming the

President Hinckley's passing moved my non-LDS eyes to tears. I am there
comforting my Mormon girlfriend. I am comforted that President Hinckley is
awaited in Heaven by his wife.

I know he is a prophet of God and that his life was preserved to fulfill the
work he was called to do. His life, love, and dedication reflect the pure love
of Jesus Christ. I feel such love and gratitude for his influence in my life.
He will be greatly missed, but I am so thankful to know that he is again
reunited with loved ones that have passed on before him. He has been a worthy
instrument in the hands of God, who's life has touched others worldwide. I
am so grateful for him and want to be a better person because of him. I have
come to know the love that Jesus Christ has for me, because of the love I have
felt for and from President Hinckley. I will be forever grateful for his
influence in my life. Our prayers are with his family and with the leaders of
the church.

inspiration of the many members of the Church. We love you and will miss you.

My initial feeling was deep sadness which quickly turned to joy as I thought of
him reuniting with his wife and others. We truly "thank Thee Oh God"

It brings tears to my eyes to think that we will not hear his faith-promoting
voice, see his ever-present smile, or listen to his dry wit in General
Conference. I've hoped that he could continue to lead the church, but know
that God has chosen another to continue to carry the mantle of prophet upon the

The End of an Era: This man was a great example of optomisim over pessimism. I
felt like he was my grandpa or something always saying the things I needed to
hear.

sadness and joy are in our hearts as we contemplate the news of president
Hinckleys passing. The security and love he extended to us will always be

President Hinckley will be greatly missed. He was a wonderful and inspired man
and I love him. I go to Mountain View High and we are also dressing up to honor
President Hinckley's life. What a sad thing that he is gone. But what a
wonderful thing to be able to be with his wife Marjorie. Can you imagine the
kind of reception he received on the other side of the veil? This man did so
much not just for our church but for the world! He was so loving and kind. He
truly cared about everyone he met. He loved serving everyone! And by doing so he
was serving our Lord. I love him so much and hope I can someday be the example
he was to the world.

He will be missed. What a great guy he was! So vibrant and positive about our
future. He said a lot about what a great future we have coming to us and not to
be so gloomy about it. That impressed me the most and I tell people to cheer up
and look forward to a good future. After all, it is our choice how we want our
future to be and his positiveness showed us that it is definitely possible. I
loved his speeches. I never had one speech come that I didn't like. I am
going to miss seeing him and seeing his cane that he walked with and the smile
he always had for everyone. What a man! And I'm sure he's very happy
being back with his wife again and busy working doing what they needed him there
to do. The world is a better place in many ways because of President Gordon
Hinckley. He was loved by many.
