Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:
The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star,
Hath had elsewhere its setting,
And cometh from afar:
Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come
From God, who is our home:

Deepest condolences to President Hinckley's family and deepest gratitude and love to him. We will miss you.

Now The Leader Of The Band Has Died. The word has come to Hawaii and to my house of the Passing of President Hinckley. He lived a Great Life and was a Great Example about how to live. Often in the last 20 years I have followed that example. I have listened to his talks and taken his advice. I am a much better person having done so. I saw him when he came to BYUH a few years ago. I truly felt the Spirit and the Love. When he came to Hawaii the last time with Sister Hinckley, he asked us to sing Aloha Oi (Hawaiian Fair Well song), and of course we did. I find little sadness at his passing, only a peace and a sure knowledge that Sister Hinckley will be oh so happy to see him, the wait not having been very long at all. I know he missed her. He told us he did. I know he was in the Upper Room and part of Declaration II. In part because he was there I am here. His TALK on The Family "A PROCLAMATION TO THE WORLD" hangs on my wall, along with his Picture

I cannot think of a better example of living a Christ-centered life than the life of President Hinckley. Our job now as Church members is to follow suit and honor our beloved prophet by doing what he asked of us all along. This Church will not be different without him, it will be better for having had his leadership and example. Welcome home, dear prophet, and bless you forever! Right now, I have a smile and a warm feeling in my heart, thinking of your sweet reunion with your dear wife. What sweet joy for the eternities!

God speed to our beloved prophet. President Hinckley's faith in Christ and his positive outlook are an inspirational model for life. His determination to serve our Lord and Master and to carry His message of hope to people throughout the world is awesome. I'm grateful that our children have come to know him and to anticipate hearing from him at every possible occasion. He will be missed but his legacy will endure forever as generations are affected by the lessons learned at the feet of this humble man and inspiring leader of the Church.

While we are sad because we have lost a great leader, I am happy that he is now with his beloved companion. When I saw President and Sister Hinkley at an area conference in California in the late 90's, I thought that they represented the perfect couple. His example of love of wife and family made his condemnation of spouse and child abuse all the more potent. The Proclamation on the Family holds high the standard for a world that seeks to promote everything but the traditional family.
May our great prophet enjoy his rest in the Lord.

With great sadness I say good-by to a great Prophet, but with happiness in my heart I rejoice in his great reunion with his eternal companion and family members. President Hinckley, I will miss your great smile.

President Hinckley was my favorite prophet. He had such great love for people, especially women and children. I will miss him but am glad that he can now be reunited with his beloved wife.
I will always treasure the hug from a prophet of God at the Kallang Theatre in Singapore when he visited in 2000. It sustained me through many trials that followed. He was truly an inspired man.
Thank you President Hinckley!

I know that heavenly father loves you and rejoys in your works and examplar life. Their gain is our lose.I am so thankful as a new convert for your teachings and your wisdom. Thank you for the challenge to read the book of mormon in one year.As a new convert it was a blessing. You knew that your time was coming and you shared with us your love for the church and all the members. You also prepared your brothers and sister in last year conference, that your days were shorts. I am so thankful for having the opportunity to hear the living gospel from you, My beloved prophet. A tear of love and gratitude.

May we all honor his memory by living in our lives the Gospel principles he taught with vivid clarity!
He will be greatly missed but the restored Gospel will continue to roll on!

As members of this true Church we are sadden a little by the timing of his passing. But it is truly not our plan it is Heavenly Father's time frame. Oh what a glorious reunion is happening with Sister Hinckley and her devoted husband Gordon. The Keys are all in the hands of the Quorum of the Twelve now and judiciously through divine inspiration the mantle we preceed to man Heavenly Father sees fit as being his mouthpeace like President Hinckley once was! After 21 years of my conversion to the church it is so evident that it is a house of order. May His Family already in paradise be hugging and welcoming back home for all eternity.

Since President Hinckley was set aparted as the 15th. President of the Church, I always considered President Hinckley as a Profet of God, but little by little, he was gaining my heart, and he became a beloved friend and servant of the Lord.

I know he really loved me and all the saints around the world. Thanks President Hinckley I'll always remember you!

I tried to explain that President Hinkley had passed away to my four year old, she just cried and cried, tried to explain we would have a new Prophet. But she wants her President Hinkley.

Although I am not LDS, Mr. Hinckley was a fine man and an inspiration to everyone. He was not narrow or constrained. I hope the next president of the LDS faith is as broadminded.

How could some others in the world look at this sweet, vibrant man and church leader, and think that President Hinckley represents a cult, or a relegion not based in Christ and service. He was and will remain a giant of a man with a legacy forged in longevity and a flawless life of ministering to the whole world. My wife and I were touched deeply by him and became active and useful again after 20 + years of selfish, rowdy living away from the church. He and Elder Maxwell drew us back into the fold. We will donate to the Perpetual Education Fund for the very first time in President Hinckley's name instead of flowers. The world has lost a great man, husband, father, grandfather and prophet. Our grief is overwhelming. We wish the gift of the comforter to be with his family, and all who feel loss and sadness.
