Iam From Bristol, England and I have to wait until February 22nd To see it over here.
I'll be counting the days (33) .
I Watched Rattle and Hum at The Cinema in 1988 and THAT was Awesome. So I can't Imagine How Brilliant This Would Be.

Amazing show! The 3D effects were unlike anything I have seen before. At times it seemed like I was on stage with the band, and at times it seemed like I was in the audience. There were some cool 3D graphic effects as well, where it seemed like words and shapes were raining down on the audience. My husband and I waited for 3 hours in the freezing cold for standby tickets, but it was worth it. My husband shook the hands of both Bono and Edge as they got out of their limos. There was an amusing Q and A with the band and the director after the show. Seeing the show was strange in one respect: I felt like making noise because I was at a rock concert, but then I felt like I should be quiet because I was at the movies. I think people didn't quite know how to act, but I saw a lot of people smiling, clapping, bobbing their heads, etc. I am a HUGE U2 fan, but it's a great show even if you aren't, just for the amazing 3D experience. I believe it starts playing locally on Wednesday.

Bono is one of the most amazing celebrities today. Thank God he doesn't hold a grudge - U2 wanted to play years ago (starting in the 80's) in SLC but couldn't because of the lovely LDS (they didn't want a band to play here that was so idolyzed by fans/and their religious/political connotations made in song). When they came here for the Pop tour, I was so happy they didn't hold a grudge - Bono even announced "we are sorry we haven't played here before, but we weren't allowed to." - this whole time people have believed they didn't want to play here.

""we are sorry we haven't played here before, but we weren't allowed to." - this whole time people have believed they didn't want to play here."

That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Only an idiot (or a naive bigot) would believe that.

On the list of controversial bands to play here, U2 wouldn't make the top 40. The Dead played here. I've been to concerts in Utah where you could get high on second hand smoke (which, apparently, you did, to be so gullible.)

Actually they did play here before POP Tour. They opened for another band but were unfortunatley "booed" off the stage. (Happened in 1980...My brother was there.)
Not sure where the "LDS Legend" started...but typical for around here of course.

That's right Anonymouse. They did, in fact, play here in the early 80's and were booed off the stage. And, having gone to the Pop concert, I don't recall Bono EVER saying they "weren't allowed" to play Utah. Get your facts straight happy, before you start accusing the LDS Church of controlling all things in Utah. Perhaps you should pack your bags...

I wish the legend that is U2 in SLC would end. The band played here in 1981 on the Boy tour at and old long closed club called Abbey Road. They then returned to SLC on the WAR tour 2days after the FAMOUS rain fuel RED ROCKS show - theyt headlined the Assembly Hall at the Salt Palace with the Alarm opening. The reaction was les than ethusiastic after what people in driving rain did. They were not booed. the show did not even sell out until day of 1200 people. They then in turn grew to big arena status which Utah did not have until the Delta Soulutions Engery Arena Center. Trust me United Concerts and Scott Arnold Productions tried unsuccessfully to bring U2 back in the 13 yrs of non existence.
