I want to commend Michael Styles, the Director of the Office of Black Affairs, for making a point at the end of the awards presentation of having the audience that packed the event room recognize the efforts of those individuals who served the audience its lunch. The cuisine prepared by executive chief Eric Collins who remained in the kitchen had his staff come out and present themselves to the applause of the audience. Too often, the people who truly serve in the background at low wages and make an event possible are often the invisible, hardworking laborers who are those under-represented that deserve our recognition and attention for their efforts. Yesterday in the spirit of Martin Luther King, Mr. Styles promoted this spirit in a rare moment of inspiration. Thank you Mr. Styles and the staff of Mr. Collins.
