I tried to do some business in payson a few years ago and planning director, counsel, planning commission, and mayor were all just extremely difficult to work with. We finally pulled out after spending $30K on research into the area and decided our money and business was better off elsewhere. Those people have their heads in the sand and think they are going to remain the cute little bedroom community that they have been forever. Wake up Payson!!!! It's not going to happen.

If I were a big box retailer Depooh, lowes, Target, Kohls. I would build in Payson.

There are better ideas. I have one that will keep the business and the tradition of the city intact. The idea will effect little if any residential or business property. The change will be on the Benjamin Exit, it is a belt-route that travels into Salem. The road will increase accessibility to Elk Ridge, Salem, and Woodland Hills. I Live on Payson Main Street and see the thousand of cars and trucks that pass that road everyday. I have the toughest time getting onto the road in the morning and during the evenings. I believe this change would allow Payson to keep its businesses and increase opportunity for more businesses and revenues to those cities. Traffic through Spanish Fork and Payson will decrease, But those people when in need will still frequent those business.
Salem will bring Salem Hills High School on-line in Fall 2008 perfect time to think forward.
