The biggest problem in health care today is that government decided to get involved a few decades ago. Ever since then, they have followed a pretty depressing cycle: impose mandates on coverage, act surprised when premiums rise as a result, act outraged when more people are without health insurance, use that outrage to get more involved, and then impose more mandates. It's like an alcoholic that can't ever break the cycle of addiction. Can we get a 12-step program for government officials who can't help but impose their will on everything?
