Peter Caroon is forgetting that Rocky has chased off all of the conventions so the city cannot rely simply on the revenue the convention goers bring.

Maybe if Rocky were a little more business friendly during his tenure, this wouldn't be an issue. You don't hear Dolan donwn in Sandy insisting on charging for parking services at the South Towne Expo Center.

I stopped parking at the Salt Palace after paying $10 for a few hours parking. It is a rip off. I would pay $5.

I am more ticked off that SLC stopped honoring other cities freight parking stickers several years ago. It used to be if you purchased on from WVC or another city, you could park in a freight zone in SLC. That needs to be fixed.

wow already the democrats are at each other over money. what a shock. when was the last big convention in SLC? oh yeah rocky chased them away. sorry salt lake city residents looks like the county wants a piece of the action or no one gets any at all.

With how much lots downtown charge for parking $5.00 is reasonable. Parked in lot where They chasrged $5.oo for two hours and for a whole day it was $15.00.

Two things: Parking is free at South Towne. Where do the SL City deep thinkers believe the people who park at the Salt Palace are headed? Drinks, dinner, theater, concert? Salt Lake City has done a great job essentially destroying Main Street over the past three decades and now, with the support of its in-house lawyer, wants to be re-imbursed for "infrastructure and services" it provides the Salt Palace. Who says there's no humor in the legal profession?

First, parking at South Towne is free...except for maybe soccer games next season.

Second...everyone parking at the Salt Palace is headed to a nightclub, restaurant, sporting event, concert, show or convention in downtown Salt Lake City.
