Not being a resident of Utah, I had never heard of Mayor Rocky Anderson till this article turned up in a Google search. What an outstanding public servant! His courage in opposing the disastrous, illegal war against Iraq, his call for the impeachment of a criminal president, his stand for gay rights and recognition of global warming are commendable. The citizens of Salt Lake City are also praiseworthy for electing and supporting him. I hope his political career is not over, and that sometime in the future I will have a chance to vote for him !!

And you know what, Donna? You still don't know squat about Rocky Anderson.

A mayor's primary mission is not to crusade for gay rights, against global warming, or for an end to war. A mayor's primary mission is to RUN HIS CITY, and this is where Rocky Anderson fell down.

He failed to get the Rio Grande Depot redeveloped as a transit hub, he failed to clean up Pioneer Park, and he sabotaged a proposition that would have replaced three antiquated public safety facilities within the city limits.

Anderson may get a letter grade of "A" in activism, but he barely earned a "D" in running a city.
