What do we know about Roger Malcom? Is a reporter digging into his past? Surely he has a history of mental illness or criminal activity???

He is scum and now he is a murderer. That's all I need to know. Lock him away for the rest of his life.

Why was he not charges with capital homicide? It seems that the crime he committed merits the death penalty to me.

FIRST OF ALL VERNE WAS A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE. ALSO A CO-WORKER. I'M SAD TO SAY GOODBYE. HIS WIFE IS RIGHT VERNE WOULD DO ANYTHING TO HELP ANY ONE. THIS MAN RODGER MALCOM MAKES ME VERY ANGRY. THE FACTS ARE THERE. IF IT WASN'T VERNE IT COULD OF BEEN ANYBODY A PREGNANT WOMAN ON THE ROAD IT COULD OF BEEN THE CASHIER CALLING FOR ASSISTANCE. I DO BELIEVE IN AN EYE FOR AN EYE. BUT I DO BELIEVE HE SHOULD BE PUT AWAY FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE. IF HE CLAIMS HE'S CRAZY THEN STICK HIM IN THE CRAZY HOUSE I MEAN LET HIS FREEDOM BE TAKEN TREATED LIKE AN ANIMAL IN A CAGE. WHEN HE SHOT VERNE HE TREATED HIM LIKE ANIMAL SO I BELIEVE WE SHOULD TREAT HIM THE SAME JUSTICE FOR VERNE JENKINS IS ALL I ASK!!!!

A pack of gum? Shot him twice in the neck, put the gun down and sat down and waited for police? What a sick guy? Capital Crime if ever I heard of one! This guy butchered an innocent man!

This is such a sad and tragic story. Verne had his life together and this Malcolm guy comes along and does what he did. There is "no rhyme or reason" for this senseless act. My heart goes out to the family. I'm so sorry for your lose. May you look to God and find peace within yourself.
