Exactly how Reaganesque is Romney?

Yup, Romney has that look. And, it's ok for him to change his mind - life evolves. But, "why" does he change his mind? Expediency to get elected? He's certainly not beyond stretching the truth! Where is his anchor?

Who in this world hasn't changed his/her look on things when more information comes to light, or you start to see that your position just doesn't agree with how you felt before as you do now? I think back a few years ago about certain ideas and I wonder how did I ever take that stand then. People change, and that includes those who are in the public eye. Romney is anchored, and one just has to listen to him, study him, give him some slack for being, after all, just human, and if we are so fortunate to have this brilliant man as our president may heaven smile down upon us!

Gov. Romney exudes sincerity, integrity and clean living. You can see it in his eyes and in his demeanor. He is right on the issues, too. The media is hard up to be nit picking like this. They are trying to take him down because he is the best candidate to run against Hillary Clinton and does not have the kind of baggage other candidates are carrying.

The only thing Romney "exudes" is superficiality and expediency.

There's no core there, except power. And he doesn't connect at the retail level to voters.

Add his insincerity to the racial problems with his religious tradition and you have an unelectable candidate in a general election.

The Republican candidate is going to have to affirm the Reagan Revolution 100% because the Clintons will
deconstruct it. The Republican candidate will have to reaffirm the core values of being an American (self reliance, a belief in the Creator as our source of strength and liberty, private property, family as the source of a person's greatest loyalty, not the government, the central algorithm of starting now, with what you have, where you are to work to where you aspire to go, charity not welfare) because the Clintons intend to deconstruct these essential values. She said so and says so every so often but not in one long Castro like speech because when/if she has the power she can then say, "I told you what I was going to do and you gave me your implicit permission." Mitt has no core. He talks like a Republican now, but he's very late to the party. Even as governor, he raised taxes, didn't cut any, and created a gov't mandated health care instead of working to lower costs. He also spoke out against Bush's 2001 and 2003 tax cuts. What did Mitt do as governor? Rudy might talk too much about NYC, but Mitt never talks at all about MA!

Rich Lowry of National Review said this of 50 minute speech by Mitt:
"The rest of his foreign policy stuff�when he talked about Iran and the broader war�felt very shaky and about an inch deep."

Jonah Goldberg said this of Mitt:
"I�m sorry but Romney still comes across like a well-cast actor in a movie of the week about a guy running for president."

The most Reagan-like candidate is Rudy. He's wise, smart and tough, and prepared to deal with the enormous amount of issues today's president has to deal with. He's also the most electable of the major GOP candidates, who can put NJ, CT, etc. in play.

There are many negative things said about Rudy, *many* incorrect, because he is the biggest threat to the left!

Yeah Republicans reaffirm
WHOLEHEARTEDLY REAGAN'S REVOLUTION, and America is lost. Lets borrow and spend more money that our children will have to pay for. That's the right thing to do. Create more religious bigotry, dividing the people, that has occurred since Reagan. Yea that is really what we need. More of the same! More wealth to the richest, who pay for the campigns of the republicans, while the working class get squeezed more. Yea that's the way to go.

Rudy created a surplus in NYC by cutting taxes and spending.

The left often talks about class warfare. The Republicans don't favor the rich; they cut taxes for everyone. Today, the top 25% pay 86% of federal income taxes. The rich are paying their fair share already.

The working class are getting squeezed because of the high cost of healthcare, energy, taxes and regulations, too many lawsuits, etc. The GOP has the best proposals to fix this, while the Dims will make this worse. BTW, these problems were all caused by the Dims. They made it illegal to drill for oil; they are the ones who fight lawsuit reform, etc.

The best thing for America is to elect a 21st century Reagan -- Rudy!!

I just smile at all the efforts to downgrade Mitt. He is good man! I loved some of the above positive comments that are true in my mind. He radiates goodness and honesty. He is the best man for the job of President and he can work circles around Hillary.

I voted for Dukakis, Mondale, Carter and Clinton over the years. Finally I wised up and saw the error of my ways. Sometimes it takes a while before you can truly see. I believe Mitt has suffered thru this type of dilemma as well until he finally wised up. It's like thinking your parents were so dumb and you were so smart until after a lot of years you finally come to the conclusion that you had it backwards all along. Wise up.

Reagan was a liberal Democrat until the 1950's. He was also a registered Democrat until 1962. Undoubtedly, Reagan himself changed his views on the issues dramatically. But, once he did so conservatism never had a greater champion. I think the same will be said about Mitt Romney.

It reminds me of sniveling little middle-schoolers the way Romney's critics say he "looks" the part but has no depth. I guess some people never grow up. Looks shouldn't make the decision. It should be action and personal character: and there is NO WAY we would choose anybody except MITT ROMNEY.
