Now I now why my sewer bill when 40% this year. I wish I could get a 40% raise
so that I can keep up with my fixed cost. Next will be Natural Gas ..Riverton
already gouges us for water.

Maybe getting hired on with the new sewer plant will give you the raise you
need. There are no fixed income problems at the city level. Raises are regular,
job security is great. and maybe your own hand will raise in afframation when a
tax increase is proposed.

There is now way the new Riverton wastewater treatment plant is going to cost
$40 million. Original planning estimates were about $145 million and more
recently $167 million. Just wait until the design is finished and bid. The
costs will be more like $200 million. Maybe you should get the costs right
before letting Messrs. Bower, White and Applegarth break their arms while giving
themsleves such a big pat on the back for selling an unnecessary wastewater
treatment plant to the rate payers in Draper/Riverton.

Your article did, indeed, shave over $100 million off the preliminary estimates
for this facility. Furthermore, waste flows entering the new membrane plant
could have been more efficiently treated at the existing South Valley Water
Reclamation Facility, had pride and greed not driven the decision to build this
new plant. And while the membrane system occupies a smaller footprint, its
claimed efficiencies come at a staggering cost for energy--- which are on-going
fiscal and environmental costs to the District's ratepayers.
