Navy made right pick with Niumatalolo

Congratulations to Niumatalolo. I think he will do a great job. I agree that being Samoan probably didn't have anything to do with the hiring decision. Being a coach at a service academy requires top-notch ethics, dedication to academics and a very strategic mind considering the weak recruiting classes and tough D-1 competition. I'm an Air Force Academy fan and must admit that I don't look forward to facing coach N every year but watching the other 11 games he coaches should be exciting.

Great article Brad. It would be great to have a U graduate as a coach at the Y. Whittingham and Sitake represent both the U and the Y with great character and credibility. Some one for the U could do likewise at the Y. People need to get over the silly and childish nonsense of antagonism between these two great universities.

Twenty years ago I met Kenny. I knew then that he would do great things in his life. All types of people were drawn to him and would do anything he asked. A born leader who will be a great head coach. Congrats Kenny!

I enjoyed this article and How Coach Sitake clarified this is not a Poly- Quota thing, it shoud always be a decision for the most qualified, not the color of he skin. I have been around Polynesian Coaches with my own kids, they are genuine and very gifted in skill development. They love to have fun and take football serious. This is not a racial profile it is an acknoledgement for success, for a small group of people from the Isles of the pacific ocean. I know there are plenty of qualified Poly coaches and would love to see their Love and talent at any level.

I have taught and worked with plenty of polys and they are no different than any group (with pluses and minuses: good/bad people in group) You never judge a group by its individual members. I thought it was a very mature stance by Sitake.

I am also so sick of the nipping back and forth between the two schools. It is a great rivalry! but it is games we are comparing. No game is won on merit a lone or decided on skill alone. It is a game and the people that play in it should take away from it the better part of the game rather than the mean and base. We should cheer for the other side when we do not play each other because it is beneficial to our respective team for the other to do well.
Show respect for others and it builds you up.(yes I coach but this is not just babbling I see the difference in myself and others)
