This American Legislative Exchange Council report sounds like republican
propaganda. What a joke, this report shows that Utah is a great state for the
rich and a the worst state to live in if you are poor.

Working Hard | 10:30 a.m. Dec. 18, 2007
Why would anyone admit they are "working poor?" I know this
isn't very "PC" but doesn't "working poor" really
mean "ill prepared?" Seriously, America really is a land of
opportunity - especially in Utah. Anyone in Utah who wants a job can have one.
Anyone in Utah who wants a better job can prepare themselves for it. Education
opportunities abound and money is no barrier. There are education loans,
grants, scholarships, and jobs in abundance. Anyone, from any background in
Utah can improve their condition. That isn't necessarily true in other
places, like Mexico, but it is true here. So, people drop out of high school,
ignore higher ed, get preganant, or get someone pregnant and enter society ill
prepared. Then, mark themselves a victim of "rich" society, calling
themselves "working poor" and complain about government(republicans)
not "helping" them enough. It's time for "working
poor" to stop wallowing in self pity and government dependence and start
taking advantage of the enormous economic opportunity that is his for the
taking.
