I certainly would not want someone writing a book about what they think they know about my life. I am sure this man means well but I really don't see how he could do this to someone he doesn't really know. If Marie wants to write a book let her decide to do I feel it is not his place or right to do so.

Should be a good read from an outside view. The Osmonds have done a lot of good for the church. they are human. folks like to read human stories i guess. it's a money maker for sure outside of utah among the same aged genre as the Osmonds.

How's this: "Skeptic found unconscious after holding his breath while waiting to be titillated instead of being informed."

Check out what this guy's using as his "publisher" -- a "self publishing" company, that accepts ANY book as long as you pay for it.

Let me get this straight. A biography about a person that you don't really know, without their support or input, but it will be accurate. According to who? Seems to me it should be called fiction....

Sounds like the same waste-of-time dribble from any other gossip columnist - you write about something you know nothing about, using "reliable sources" who maybe had 5 minutes of contact with the subject. You know her because you're LDS? NOT! I'll pass on this one, thank you. Life is too short to waste time reading garbage.

No More Osmonds! | 12:07 p.m. Dec. 17, 2007
It was some 30 years ago when a major publisher printed the Marie Osmond Beauty Book. What a waste of printers ink then as it will be now. The only ones that will buy the book will be her family. One should wait to get it at the thrift store.

We'll never hear of this self-promoting self-publisher again.

Why? Because not that many people care!

My proof? The Marie Osmond book at the Ogden DI last month, priced at $2 and SIGNED BY MARIE. Just sitting there. People would pick it up, thumb through it, notice it was signed, and STILL put it down.

If something BY Marie isn't worth $2, how much is a gossip book worth? I guess members of "the Church" (which one?) will buy it?

With technology and travel being so convenient these days, the Osmond-fans hear anything and everything they want to hear directly from an Osmond. No one that I know would purchase a book made up from heresay. Mr. Jernigan would be better off writing a fiction novel and stop wasting his time on "unauthorized" garbage.

I can't believe the harsh and mean-spirited sentiments coming from Desnews readers--I'm surprised Marie and her family want to even live in this state.

How sad.

I bet Marie doesn't spend all that much time in Utah.

Despite all the mean comments, there are a lot of us who would never have heard the gospel but for the Osmond Family. They are great people, leave them alone!! As for the Marie book, anyone can write what they want -no-one can force us to buy it-I know I won't.

"Let me get this straight. A biography about a person that you don't really know, without their support or input, but it will be accurate. According to who? Seems to me it should be called fiction...."

Most biographies are written by people who don't personally know their subject nor have their support. DUH.

This could end up being interesting. The autobiography Marie wrote is so full of negativity to herself and the world in general that it could be interesting to see an outsider take a (hopefully!) more objective viewpoint.

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
