Finally, how does a CEASE-FIRE in the War of Words and Tumultuous Opinions sound? Considering the Holidays and New Year coming up, when we have an opportunity to mend our ways and start out afresh (if that sounds like ï¿½repent,ï¿½ it could be, if it applies), it seems appropriate to put political wrangling and religious intolerance and ignorance on the shelf for awhile (even better - completely out of the house!) and let everybody enjoy the lights and the music and the Spirit of the Reason for the Season! Thatï¿½s my wish for all of us.
Oh, and if you absolutely, positively CANï¿½T REFRAIN from the puerile game of ï¿½contend for the faith, and then experience abusive persecution in return,ï¿½ for pityï¿½s sake: write your comments in a word-processing program and SPELL-CHECK your work before you submit it! For a religion with a reputation of having a high percentage of well-educated members, letï¿½s not submit stuff that looks like a hillbilly wrote it. A good example in word, as well as in deed, will more favorably impress your audience. You wonï¿½t get thanked for it, but youï¿½ll feel better about your efforts. God bless us, every one.

If you want to know what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is all about, Read the Book Of Mormon, Read it sincerely with an open mind and You will find that it is another Testament of Jesus Christ,I've sat through one to many so called worship meetings where all the Baptist do is trash Mormons, Are these Pastors worried about job security,Do we not got to worship Christ, Ask a Mormon what he gets paid to serve in the church, Bishop, Sunday School teacher,Working with the youth or Children,It's a religion of sacrifice without expecting something in return.
I have Baptist friends who love and respect what I hold dear,So for you that are threatened,Come see some of the fruits of what the Church is all about, welfare square in Salt Lake City is where Millions of dollars of food clothing and basic needs to survive are distributed throughout the world for those who are in need,.
So for those of you who want to judge the LDS faith on hear say, You are ignorant of what we are all about,I hope we can all be more tolerant.

Thanks Famous Last Words. I agree. Isn't it true that the Savior taught that if you are reviled to NOT turn and revile again? Something about turning the other cheek? Didn't he say that if someone offends you then YOU must go to them to reconcile it? Didn't He give us a mandate to forgive . . . ALWAYS? Didn't He forgive His persecutors - even as he was dying at their hands? I suspect our Christian behavior (or lack of it) will speak far louder than anything we say. I think that it was Lincoln that said ï¿½The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend.ï¿½ He also said: "I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.ï¿½ I have many friends that are fundamentalist. I agree with much of what they stand for. Why would I want to make any of them my enemy? When people are rude - why would I want to emulate their behavior? I would rather listen to the Savior and emulate Him.

Don't all religions have some beliefs that seem strange to those not of their faith? Consider the Catholic belief in Transubstantion, that the communion wine and wafer actually transform into the blood and body of Jesus Christ. Limbo, where the most innocent and pure of beings are relegated to that state if they die without Catholic baptism.
I realize that both of these tenets have been greatly modified recently but they were part of the churh for centuries.
Evangelicals speaking in tongues, swooning, rolling about the floor. Baptists believing none will be saved if they do not believe in and accept Jesus Christ, without any allowance for the vast majority of people dead and alive who have never even heard of Him. Not a very loving God. Actually teaching from the pulpit and in classes against Mormonism, I have attended Mormon services and have never heard any disparaging remarks about any other religion, in fact the opposite is true, they seem to open their arms to all. Please put all this religious talk aside, live and let live and don't allow religious discrimination enter into your view of any candidate running for President of this great country.

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and a white male i'm very much in a minority group in South Africa Us with our high crime rate and a history of rascism. Yet no one in my Country has ever discriminated against me based on my Religious believes. We are a very young dimocracy and we try our best to tolerate each other. The problems u are complaining about is not very significant so please look at the big picture we all have an commin enemy and we should start fighting againts HIV/AIDS, Poverty Unemployment Imortality, young children growing up with one or no parents, we are all brothers and sisters and we should treat each other the same way that we want to be treated......

Typical politician tactic. Throw it out there, right or wrong, and than it's "oops, I'm sorry". But the damage is done. It's out there for everyone to see. This is happening more and more, and they act like it's an innocent mistake but it's a calculated move on their part to try and discredit or hurt the other person.

I think Troy Miller has a great idea. E-mail MSNBC and tell them what we think about O'Donnell. I heard about 2 minutes of what he was yelling about. This man did not say what he thought, he was literally going ballistic about the LDS Church. If he was doing that about any church I would be bothered by that. When disasters happen the LDS Church is standing by ready to help. Huge trucks get filled, Airplanes get filled and I am very happy that is one of the many places that my Tithing goes. People get fed, get medicine, medical supplies, training to save babies trying to take their first breath, etc. For the people on this site that are critizing my Religion if you needed the help I would be glad my Tithing money will help you too.
May this season of the year give you all you hope it will. May Peace be with all of you. I hope God's love just fills you and your Family and we can all smile a few extra times today to someone who needs it.

I'm so sick of hearing the words "attacking his faith" and "the damage is done". The man asked a question about another's beliefs. Why is that an attack? He shouldn't have apologized for anything, he didn't do anything wrong.

Can't you people understand that both candidates are saying, "A vote for me - is a vote for Jesus?"
These are merely skanky politicians - not men speaking for the Lord at all.
Don't you remember when George W. Bush told the world he was "taking directions from a higher power" (and people bought it)?
This is what the imploding GOP is doing these days.

You obviously haven't heard that all other churches are an abomination to God especially the Catholic church. This is the very cornerstone as to the need for the restoration of God's religion.

I would like to ask Mike Huckabee this: You show much disdain for Mitt Romney and his religion. How would this effect you as president. Being president you would need religious tolerence, not just on the home front, but also in foreign policy, treaties and etc. If you can not hide your disdain or even manage to harness during a campaign, how are you going to if you become president. Our country,our great nation, was founded because people wanted religious freedom and by you behaving in such a careless, bias, almost hateful manner, you are violating the people, you are surpressing the people. You are not acting as a leader. You are not acting as a president.
