Shouldn't words have some phonetic method of pronouncing it to be a part of the language? What is the phonetic pronunciation of Wzerozerot? They shouldn't confuse computer code with language. If a word cannot be pronounced it is not a word nor a part of the oral or written language. Are geeks and code writers writing the dictionaries now?

Huh? | 9:14 a.m. Dec. 12, 2007
How can an article about the word of the year explain the roots of the "word", and not talk about the woot.com phenomenon? If Stephanie Reitz covers the cybergeek world, is it possible she's nevered Wooted, or at the very least frequented the site? Go figure....

the purpose of l33t speak is to shorten the word "w00t" is the same as woot. They just sub the letters with numbers. The geeks and code writters are the ones who take the time to make the dictionaries.

So as said before W()()T FTW !!!

by the way beautiful choice

W00t! That is pretty awesome. Maybe this will help people understand gamers, geeks, and nerds better now... or probably not.

Lol, that's awesome. I usually just use woot because I don't care for making the huge effort of reaching the 0 key on my keyboard, but whatever. I can't really believe that it's w00t though... kinda weird.

If it weren't for geeks | 6:17 p.m. Dec. 17, 2007
Try living your normal life without geeks. Seriously, can you imagine the traffic-light problems, or even septic tank control? If it weren't for some of these geeks, you wuldn't be writing anything, let alone about how they've destroyed English.
By the way, its not destroying the language, it's changing it. Why on Earth do you think that we speak differently than Englishmen in England?
