I grew up in the South where ministers in our town regularly warned their congregations to stay away from Mormon missionaries. My friends and some family attended these churches and reported to me the warnings they received from their ministers. They are really good at distorting truths to scare their people into closing their doors to the missionaries.
The Evangelists are not worried about our belief in the Godhead. They are worried about our missionary program and losing income when they lose members.
The evangelicals wanted Bush and got him. And what a wonderful seven years it has been...
Now if it's Huckabee they want the course of action is evident, do everything you can to keep Huckabee out of the race.
The Connecticut Courant, the longest running newspaper in US history started in 1764, today called the Hartford Courant.
So you think Mitt should have borne his testimony in his speech?
I will assume you are serious, althought that is difficult. Mitt has said that he is not running for head of the clergy. Apparently, you thought he was.
We can't expect the Christian Right, to except the teaching of Mormonism. When we hold the Holy Bible, in our left hand. The Book of Mormon in our Right hard and the D&C in our back pockets.
Not to mention our teaching on Temple worship.
We know we our Christian, the problem is being asked to proving it to others. Name calling is not going to resolve this situation. So Please, Brothers and Sisters, let us show our support is other ways.
The Savior chose to make the hero of this tale a Samaritan. There was considerable antagonism between the Jews and the Samaritans at the time of Christ. Yet, His deliberate use of Jews and Samaritans clearly teaches that we are all neighbors and that we should love, value, respect, and serve one another despite our deepest differencesincluding religious, political, and social distinctions.
That teaching continues today to be part of the instructions of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In expounding the key principles of the restored Church, Joseph Smith taught, while we claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, we also allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may (see Articles of Faith 11).
But there are also some good teachings in the Koran. But many who believe most fervently in the Koran are also willing to strap bombs on their bodies and explode them in a crowd of innocent people!
Just because there is good coming from the LDS Church does not mean there is no bad, or no false doctrine, or not theological problems.
Even big crime families donate to charities, probably with drug money!

But if it gives Mormons some kind of consolation, wait another 100 years (with the growth rate of the Church at the present}, when Presidential candidates will come to you, and you as a group, will be the deciding voting bloc in every presidential election. And every president thereafter would likely be LDS!
