Prejudical anti-mormon bias like that makes me hope that Romney doesn't become President. If he does it will be 4 to 8 years of constant mormon bashing. It will be more and more common and mainstream. Personally, I think it just gets old after a while.

I hope he doesn't become president because he's just a bad candidate. republicans have forgotten how to be inclusive and Dems have forgotten how to be responcible. Perhaps we should have stuck with England!

That survey only polled 1200 people. Do you really think that it's accurate to say those opinions match that of the other 300 million people in this country? How many people in this state are voting for him just because he is mormon? Isn't that biased against the other candidates? I mean let's be fair here. The only people that care if he's mormon are mormons. It seems they constantly want to play the "we're being persecuted" card so they continue to make a big deal out of it. 50% of those surveyed didn't even know he was mormon. Give me a break.

While I agree that 1200 is too small a sample size, I hesitate to discard the information without knowing the methodology involved.

The fact is that many more people than just Mormons care that Romney is Mormon, or have you missed the outcry from many evangelical leaders throughout the country, telling their congregations not to support Romney specifically because he is Mormon?

How bout the bias for Romney in this state? Many are preaching to vote for Romney because he is mormon.

And Utah's 5 electoral votes matter at all ? So preaching to vote for Romney in Utah matters at all ? Even bringing that up shows a lack of perspective that there are 49 other states out there - most of which could scarcely fill a stadium with their entire LDS population.

My point is...the bias is not only against mormons. A bias also exists against non-mormons. I've talked to many people and they are voting for Mitt just because they want a mormon in the white house. Or better yet have said they are not voting for another candidate because he's NOT mormon. These articles once again play the persecution card. At the same time many here in this state are guilty of the same ignorance and bigotry they so strongly fight against.
