I think that this is such a great idea. We all know that NCLB hasn't turned out to be all that it was reported from the start. Let's figure out what works for Utah an make the changes necessary.

All indications in the Utah news today point to the fact that the tests do not work and are not an accurate measure of what is being taught, much less a reflection of individual learning. Until the people who write and mandate these obvious waste of time and stress inducers, which only frustrate the parents, children and teachers, papers called "tests", each parent should take charge of their child and refuse to allow them to be tested. It is obviously a flawed system which wastes a lot of money. Each child is a unique individual with an individual learning method, yet they are treated like assembly line products at the end of each school year. The one size fits all does not work..If enough parents opted out of testing, there would be some quick changes and teachers would be allowed to do what they do best...teach. In the mean time, don't make a broken test system, our childrens problem.
