Total gun ban goes too far

I hope the Supreme Court rules in favor of the second ammendment. But if not, then it is up to the other two branches to uphold what the constitution says. It is up to the people to insist that their rights are not trampled upon by their government. The constitution belongs to the people. The branches of government are merely the hired caretakers.

I wonder if the author of this editorial would consider the following play on the Second Amendment to be poorly worded and too awkward to understand.

"A well-schooled electorate, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and read Books, shall not be infringed."

The caveat put at the beginning of the amendment, the part about the well regulated militia being necessary for the security of the state...
First off, is a well regulated militia, which is to say outside of the military, still necessary to protect the state? Really? If so,
a. Where is it? and,
b. By whom and how is it regulated, and,
c. if it is necessary and it's regulated how come so many gangsters are shooting up the streets?
I know we can argue the intent of the founding fathers till we're blue in the face. Personally, I think they were expecting people to protect the nation, not plug their dealer, and if they were aware of the future a different amendment would have ensued.
And, that thing about a well schooled electorate...I wonder where that went, too. Probably watching reality tv.

Bill of Rights = First Ten Amendaments = RESTRICTIONS ON GOVERNMENT period. One of the things the government can not do is "infringe" on the right to keep and bear arms.
