Eddie's family is in my thoughts. Sen. Mayne was a giant among Utahns. I consider myself fortunate to have known and worked with him.

I grew up just down the street from Ed Mayne in Kearns. He was a few years older than me, so we didn't hang out together outside of scouting activities in our ward. I remember him as quiet and reserved, with a winning smile. I could never had predicted then that he would become such a prominent leader in the community and state. In a neighborhood where most of our dads worked at Kennecott or the Post Office, our generation was the first to graduate from college and go on, with the support of our dads, to do things that our dads had not conceived of doing. To Ed's dad Red Mayne, congratulations on raising such a son.
