Supreme Court asked to hear Utah commandments case

Everyone SHOULD be able to display thier religious beliefs, that is what is fair. But in order to push that idea we SHOULD NOT stop Jews or Christians from displaying thier beliefs, merely encourage other religions to join in on the fun.

We get evidence again and again, although we don't seem to learn, why religion is a personal thing and that it's make boastful or other public demonstrations to it.

Either everyone gets to come to the table or religious freedom doesn't work. For anyone. If you want to put the table in the public square, everyone gets to come there, too. Enjoy the picnic.

Maybe we should eat at home.

"There shalt be no god before me": isn't a religious statement? "Shall shalt not murder" didn't stop our Christian president from lying to wage war. What good is a document that those who claim to believe defines morality, can easily dismiss when standing up for the beliefs it states, when they are not convenient to make a stand for?

The hypocrisy of the statements is the problem. Maybe modifications would be OK:

"Thou shalt have no other gods before me, except all those gods you mistake for me: Allah, Jehovah, Ahman, Elohim, Adam, Lucifer, and anyone else you can't figure out."

"Thou shalt not kill, except for "war" and as a murder deterrent, and for stem cells, or if people you don�t like are travelling through Utah on the way to California."

"Thou shalt honor thy father and mother, except when they are a father&father, or a mother&mother, or when they don�t honor priesthood leaders or keep the WofW."

"Thou shalt not commit adultery, except if properly divorce your wife/husband, or if you are commanded by some god that a "new and everlasting covenant" has been revealed."

"Thou shalt not lie, except to cover embarrassing facts about past leaders, or if you still want to practice polygamy but the government says you can't."

"Honor the Sabbath Day and keep it holy, except when the Sabbath is really on another day, then honor that day, or don't, depending on how you feel and what you think "honor" really means.�
