Group asks Supreme Court to hear Ten Commandments case

I don't completly understand this topic. But overall I believe that they are saying that they are going to rejudge whether or not to let people place monuments with sayings in public. I can understand that they say that either they have to keep the monument on private property, or they have to allow everyone to be able to put up monuments or signs that say something else. I'd have to agree with them on that. I think that they should just keep the ten comandments on private property. Because, if they put it in public, and anyone else can put up signs, who knows what could show up? Signs that say rude things, or false things, etc. It'd be better to just keep your beliefs on your own property, instead of having everyone placing their beliefs all over.

According to the Constitution, the Supreme Court MUST reject this case, and not even hear it, on the grounds that "Congress shall make NO law...."

Read it. "Congress shall make NO law..." Congress has NO Constitutional authority when it comes to the establishment of religion, or the free exercise thereof. It does NOT say "Congress shall see to it that there is no establishment of religion " It quite clearly tells Congress, "You have no power to rule on this issue.

Why can't people read what the Constitution actually says

GO ahead, keep voting for these idiots who allow such atrocities to be committed against the rule of law. Keep electing them, and they will keep walking all over the us, and the law.

This isnt about congress. This is the Supreme Court. They dont make laws, they interprete laws and the constitution. Get it right before you sput off.

Keep all stinkin' religious symbols off public property that we all pay for! I cannot believe how Jesus Freaks somehow think their rights are being impaired when those of us who do not believe in false gods object to religious BS on public facilities we all share and pay for.

The ACLJ is making a bad play here.

But that shouldn't be a shocker.

The ACLJ is comprised of ultra-conservative religionists who fight against evolution (and advocate "Creationism" under the disguise of "Intelligent Design"), and try to advance a strict Christian Fundamentalist perspective on everything from science to politics to a re-writing of US History so as not to disparage the "religious foundations" of our country.

They are wasting people's time and money. PG and similar cities should save their money and just remove the monuments.

We, as a Country, collectively, gave up following the Constitution a long time ago. But, I this isn't about the congress.
