One word of caution, however; the Church must NOT use these programs to snare people into the Church's missionary program. They should be offering help to all who need it with no strings attached!
That site sure doesn't look like it's owned or operated by the church, though. In fact, now that I look up the site's whois info, it appears that David Bresnahan knows what he's talking about with his comment--he owns the site, registered to a P.O. Box in Wakefield, New Hampshire.
Not sure why the News couldn't tell that it wasn't an official church project. It only took me two minutes to check...
The second paragraph of the News article quite clearly informs it's Readers that it is an unofficial tool used by Missionaries.
I notice that you Translated it into Russian in 2000! Did you ever use the Stop-smoking programme on your Mission in Russia?
If so, did you have any success with it?
I have spoken to current Missionaries who believe that it can be very effective. Ironically in Ireland, where it began!!
Too bad the LDS Church doesn't invest some of that fortune they get from their members into practical programs like this.
Thanks heaps.
You never gave a compliment to the LDS church. Nor did you say whether you used the program. Sounds to me like you're just an angry person who wants a share of LDS's business/church proceeds for nothing. Ever heard of a "tithe" ? These are volunteers who offer the program, by the way. They ARE sharing it with all of us free of charge.
Your comment was juvenille - and PREMATURE.
