that is mostly true. there are other places in Utah to get all the full strength beer wine and liquor you can handle even on Sundays and election days. the catch is being in the Military. so the liquor bottles in my house are legally purchased in Utah without that annoying Utah tax stamp or it's prices.

Travel to any neighboring state that offers fun entertainment (gambling, horse betting, lottery) you'll find the parking lots filled with Utah plates. Our neighbor's reap the benifits from all of us Utah sinners (new schools, better roads, lower taxes) but I know that the non-sinners are happy paying high property taxes along with high state taxes and don't mind over crowded classrooms and under paid teachers, not to mention the alcohol laws that hurts tourism. Too bad Porters doesn't have slot machines, it would be alittle closer than Wendover for us sinners to have our fun.

Last year, Labor Day weekend, I visited Mesquite Nevada. The hotel was full and I would say 70% of the license plates in the parking lot were from Utah. No fireworks or porno there. Just gambling and drinking. Well, 2 out of 4 aint that bad!
