you will be happy to know that the UHSAA is going to drop the 3A numbers to 1000 or less, don't know but they could also make the bottom of 3A at 500 so that would put Delta back to 2A. That part might not happen but the 3A will at least be at 1000. So that puts Logan, Ogden, Ben Lomond, Snow Canyon, Dixie, and Uintah. For you Logan Bashers, Logan is smaller than 3 of these schools, but is the only one with a winning record. But no matter in a couple of more years they will be 4A again. For those of you in Cache Valley, won't be long before MC and SV are 5A.

I'm not exactly sure what the striped purple socks were for but i know it has something to do with the last judge team that won the state championship back in the 80's. I'm not exactly sure why but that team wore the sock all season and some of the alumni from that team gave the socks to this years bulldogs. I'm sure there is a story behind it
JM Alum | 11:47 a.m. Nov. 18, 2007
To LHS Fan, If I remember correctly, there is a long standing tradition at JMHS to award a single purple sock to the player of the game for his performance in the previous weeks game. As Friday night's game was the championship, I would guess the coaching staff chose to award each member of the team this honor. Congrats to the Logan team, coaching staff and fans on a well deserved championship title.

Do you even know Logans history be hind coach faverro? He is the master at making adjustments. And with him at the helm he has gone to to state 4 times. Lost only once by 1 point. and to the semis and the quarters. and the out the first round only once. And that year there was a lot of injuries. and keep in mind that Logan was 4A the first 5 years and they went to state twice in 4A. So you saying good luck next year to Logan... You will be shocked when they are right up there again in the playoffs... Mark my words!

Logan is returning their starting QB and two other offensive starters next year. As well as five starters on defense including three from their very impressive D-Line...so don't be so quick trying to count Logan out for the title again next year. And as far as i can remember the 3A title has gone to a team from region 11 the last 5 years now.

Congrats Grizz! You guys showed alot of heart and will always be remembered as STATE CHAMPS! I would like to especially say Thank You to the O-LINE this year for protecting my little brother:) Way to go BOOF! You did it! Love ya buddy! :) Take care of that thumb! :)

There have been rumors of Judge moving to 4A to cut down on travel times and costs. If so, they'd better get used to playing teams like Logan. Try playing Timpview! And, if Judge chooses to stay in 3A, they'd STILL better get used to playing teams like Logan. Judge didn't fumble 5 or 6 times, nor did they shy away from the opening pooch kick, because they are a 3A team. No matter what team you play, you have to play mistake free football. Also, I heard nobody whining about the 4A/3A contrast when Judge beat Logan 35-7 in the regular season. Just take the loss and come back stronger and smarter next year. Congratulations Logan.

The whinning on this board is NOT coming from Judge or Judge fans. It coming from the "other" school in Logan that seems to have a problem about Logan being a 3A school and they are 4A. I've read they same on-going issues in the Logan papers.

Hey it is guys like you that produce kids that are great to coach and a pleasure to work with. Why, becasue you don't make excuses for them, guys like you push them to give their best and whatever happens, happens. They key is not making excuses, just give your best, and no matter, you can live with the outcome. Cordova is a heck of a coach and has a great staff, they are building a program that will continue to garner respect around the state. Just know that it was us knowing how great of a team you all had that brought the best out of us, if not we had no chance to win. If your kid is a senior, tell him that from Logan, we have a great amount of respect for him and wish him the best in his future, if he is an underclassman, then we know that he will be part of team that will have great competitive spirit and be ready to play no matter who the oppenent is. From Logan
numbers | 10:22 a.m. Nov. 19, 2007
lets get the numbers strait all schools clasifications are based on grades 10-12 so logan has 1200 students 10-12 not 9-12 like they are claiming on here
To numbers | 11:35 a.m. Nov. 19, 2007
No one is claiming that it is 9-12 numbers. If you read the posts people were saying that Logan has 1000 more students than the smallest 3A school. For that to be true they would have to be including the 9th grade students that go to Logan High.
Game Ball Auction | 12:01 p.m. Nov. 19, 2007
Yes, Judge did auction off a ball from the State Championship game. So what? Judge played in the State Championship game. They didn't auction of a State Champion ball. Get your facts straight. And yeah, the person that bought the auctioned off ball, is probably feeling pretty darn good right now. That ball is signed by a great team that had a great season and played in the championship game. Well worth the money paid for it, I'm sure.
Game Ball Auction | 4:07 p.m. Nov. 19, 2007
I don't think LHS was unhappy that you auctioned the game ball before the game. In fact, it provided a great deal of motivation for us. No disrespect to Judge. You guys did have a great team and I'm sure the owner of the ball is happy. It's kind of funny how something like that became a big deal. No doubt about the impact that had on our team.
Game Ball Auction | 8:41 p.m. Nov. 19, 2007
How did it provide motivation? We found out we were in the championship game on Friday when we beat Union, so we auctioned off a state championship game ball the next night at our school auction. Since we were in the championship game, we obviously would get a championship game ball.....We didn't auction off a CHAMPIONSHIP ball.....it was a championship game ball....two different things. You were assuming that we were being overly cocky and thought we had already won. That wasn't the case at all.
to all | 9:09 p.m. Nov. 19, 2007
stop arguing and whining, Logan won and it's in the books. thats all folks.
JM | 9:45 a.m. Nov. 20, 2007
I'm wondering how Logan found out about the auction? I'm from Judge and had no idea. We are a private school and the auction is for a good cause. The person who bid on that ball with the signatures is pretty lucky. I would love to have that. Great season, championship game questionable play calling BUT Great group of kids. Some of the kids on this team are very talented and will end up playing college football, baseball and possibly basketball so it is a great deal to see where some of those kids end up and the bidder will have their first signatures! Great idea to do this.

judge can cry all they want im not sure why when they can recruit and still don't take state every year which is pathetic so shut up judge and deal with it
To Dawg Fan | 3:07 p.m. Nov. 20, 2007
What game were you watching on Friday? I think the superiority of region 11 was pretty evident. Also I think it's a bit of a stretch to say Judge's athletes are better than Logan's. I mean come on, Logan has 1220 students to choose from and you only have 600!!

To: Anonymous | 4:24 p.m. Nov. 20, 2007
Um, if you read these comment at all, you will realize that Judge is not crying or whining. The Judge comments have all been positive. Oh and by the way, how 'bout you quit whining about recruiting. Judge is a private school, which is just like any other open enrollment school. Anyone is welcome to attend.
from Logan fan | 6:50 p.m. Nov. 20, 2007
I don't think these negative comments are coming from logan either. both teams played their best that day, ours was just a little better. the first game we played you handed it to us and beat us 35-7, because of that we had a lot of respect for you guys and still do. These idiots that are trying to make it sound like it is coming from logan, I doubt it is, the guys on the football team respect you guys as great opponents. as a person affiliated with the team, I don't feel anyone from judge has been whining and nobody from Logan is gloating. We are the champs for this year and you guys had a great year to be proud of and that is all that needs to be said.
Bulldog for Life | 9:53 a.m. Nov. 21, 2007
Congrats to all. Judge and Logan both did well. Logan was better prepared but it does not discount a great season for Judge. Any team can beat any other team any given day. Judge is very proud of its kids and Logan had one of the greatest play off runs with great heart and determination. Hats off to both teams. Hopefully Judge will be more prepared with better coaching adjustments when needed for next year as they still have a fairly strong team returning.
