Rocky is likely to win waiver

What is Rocky's aversion to doing the work of a mayor? Why did he even run for the office of mayor if he had no intention of being a mayor?

I think the council should request at least a couple months of focused mayoral effort. On the other hand, maybe this will keep him occupied and away from dreaming up crazy schemes like selling SLC air space.

What Utah really needs is a non-profit organization to fund the deportation of Rocky Anderson to some far away isolated space that he might not ever return from. As such a fund would likely generate millions of dollars we could then use the excess amount raised to repair all the damage Rocky caused the state of Utah and its citizens while he was in office.

Kudos to Rocky for working toward education, human rights and climate change!

what the big hurry in raising the money why can't he just wait two more months and this would not even be a concern? or is he looking for more press? It sounds like the non-profit has a good purpose, so waiting 2 months should not hurt anything.

I see my earlier post didn't get past your censors. I'll repeat. It does not surprise me that Pebble wants a waiver from an ethics policy. The city will be better off without him, and the sooner he starts doing something else, the better. to JDS, he's not escaping, unfortunately he'll still be around here. And it's not "blame Rocky First," it's "Blame Rocky First, last and in-between" because it is well deserved.

Rocky has been feathering his nest the whole time he's been in office. Why is a waver of ethics rules needed now?

Rocky has always had grander ambitions than itty-bitty Salt Lake City. Recently his position as Mayor of this provincial town has just been holding him back. Those who think Rocky is going away just because he's out of office will be suprised.

This policy waver will just give Rocky a head start on taking his show to the national audience. Like many opportunistic politicians, he realises the opportunity here and needs to make hey while the sun shines. Can't waste time running a city. The anti-Bush, anti-business, blame everything on the US band wagon can't last forever (I hope). Basically he's telling us he feels he's wasting his time in this current mayor gig and is in a hurry to move-on(.org). If he bothers you now, just wait.
