Sandy planning '08 ad blitz

Sandy has a lot of ground to make up. City officials are giving our tax dollars
($10m, apart from the hotel tax) to unpopular RSL owners, they are well known as
a 'ticket factory' to generate revenue, the city is overdeveloped,
and, most embarrassing of all, we are the home of double-dipper/back-door dealer
Rep. Greg Curtis.

I hate Sandy and no advertising campaign will change that.

Lets see, build Wal-Marts, build a soccer stadium that most residents did not
want to pay for, collect taxes. But will Sandy lift a finger to help protect
homeowner property values, NO. Sandy is no longer a community, it is turning
into a commercial development, why not entice hazardous waste disposal and other
seedy business that generate big tax revenue. Dolan and his clonies are only in
it to pump up their egos at the cost of everyone living in Sandy before their
time.

In 10 years, all of Sandy's "cool" projects will be in dire need
of redevelopment. The "other Downtown" will likely be further down the
street in Lehi in 10 years. Its the cycle of poor urban planing that plagues
most Utah communities. Could the cause of this plague possibly be developers in
bed with the local governments?

Now there's an oxymoron. Let's pump up our image using billboards!

I have to agree that the auto ticket traps are numerous around Sandy. I got one
for merely turning too wide on a left turn. It was nearly $100! How can someone
on a Utah salary pay for that? The City Council did a poll last year showing
what great leaders they were. BUT, they did not ask if Sandy residents approved
of the extreme commercial development path they have taken. Fifteen years ago
Sandy was the best place to live in SL County, sadly that is no longer the case.
Apparently Sandy residents won't realize what "southern
california" Dolan has done to them until he is long gone. But historically
his city council will eventually be seen as the worst in the history of the
City. The whole idea of putting up ads on those ugly, tacky billboards (many
which block the views of the Wasatch Range) are another example of where their
persepectives are.

Whatever, Sandy is cool and you are all just jealous. I've lived here my
whole life and loved every bit of it. I am proud to be associated with Sandy,
including the new soccer stadium. I would have liked to see the gravel pit be a
huge city park rather than a development, but I am still very happy with this
great city.

I live in downtown SLC - the real downtown! I avoid Sandy @ all costs, have to
go for business - leave as soon as possible, the traffic is horrible, the RSL
stadium is a joke, Sandy deserves what they get from the bad press! Their
representatives are a joke along with the legislature

The Stadium will put Sandy on the map, and will soon draw people from all over
the world. The Olympics will be the only thing that comes close to that kind of
publicity. Good on ya Dolan.
