Darrell's had a great year...he's really stepped it up. He will get to 1,000 yards this weekend against the pokes.
Utah - 38
Pokes - 17

Go UTES!!!!
UTEfire | 8:56 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
I think Mack can get 1,300 this year.

Wyoming hasn't played against him yet so who says because they only allow 102 yards a game in the past will translate to Mack being stopped. I personally don't think they will be able to stop him.

Utah's weapons are becoming numerous and diverse and I doubt any team can stop all of them during any of the remaining games.

Utah will be going to San Diego and not New Mexico for a bowl game. That's if Las Vegas doesn't want them. Utah will win out the rest of the season.

Go UTES!!!!
WYO | 9:11 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
The Utes stink and will lay another egg like they did with UNLV. Their winning streak consists of a bunch of horrible teams. Yes, even UCLA and Louisville are bad. Congrats on beating no-body WYO 31 Utah 0!!!

"Revenge is a dish best served cold." The next three opponents have some payback coming at them. Utah should be up to the task.

Go Utes!
1400 yards for mack | 10:06 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
I say mack has a chance at 1400 yards this year. He will have to average about 134 over thhe next 3 games, something that he is very capable of doing. I know the utes are facing tough run defenses in wyoming and BYU, but i think utah's commitment to the run will show that these defenses statistics are inflated. Look at what CSU did to BYU on the ground last week. 1400 yards (or even 1000) would be a tremendous accomplishment for mach especially considering he didnt even play in the first game and barely played in the second.

Andy Ludwig may not be popular but he has figured out the winning formula: Mack over 100 yards = utah win.
UTAH MAN | 10:44 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
The Mack Truck needs to keep rolling for Utah to win. I think Stowers needs to contribute to the cause as well if we are to win. I'm not sold on the fact that B. Johnson's shoulder is 100%. His Soph. year he was a much more prolific passer with subpar WR compared to the weapons he has right now. I hope the O-LINE is up to the task of making things happen so Mack and Stowers can do there thing.

GO UTES!!!
to WYO | 11:03 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
after we kill wyoming, people will be saying our 6 game winning streak was against nobody...then after we kill New Mexico, they will say the same thing...then after BYU, they will say we got lucky and other than that haven't beat anybody...then we will dominate our bowl game (whichever bowl it is) and people will say we played a weak team...

What it comes down to is the Utes will finish 10-3 and will end up as the best team in the MWC, only they shot themselves in the foot at the first of the year with all the injuries...
Anonymous | 11:12 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
CSU had most of the yards against BYU's 2nd and 3rd string defensive players. Mack is overrated. He hasn't run against a good defense all year.
Utah Man | 11:12 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Hey BYU fans, (AKA WYO)

If you are gonna come over here and talk smack (and it is fully encouraged) be man enough to stand up and admit your are a BYU fan. And by the way, if UCLA is so bad, why didn't you beat them? However impressive your win over the 7th best team in the PAC10 is, perhaps you should find another option for attacking the Utes.

I just have to wonder exactly what the mighty cougar record would be if they lost Hall for 4 games, Austin Collie for the entire season, whoever their best OL guy is for the whole season, Jan Jorgenson for 4 games. I hesitate to go into the secondary because the record might improve if some of those guys went down.

BYU has been lucky they haven't played anyone with a better passing offense since Tulsa. They will see tonight just how overrated that defense has gotten over the past couple of months.

GO Utes!!!

Congrats to Darrell Mack on being the most dominant RB in the MWC! Even without playing in game 1 and limited carries in game 2.
Ute | 11:27 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
To Wyo. You can only beat the opponent who is across the line. Utah 42, Woming 12
who? | 11:28 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
I have not ever heard of Mack
Hey WYO | 11:44 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Sounds like a Ute victory to me since guess what... the pokes ARE nobody! Thanks for setting that one up for us, almost as clever as the zoobies.
UCLA | 11:44 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
UCLA was a good team till they lost Olsen. Which is proof a QB makes a huge difference. BJ and Mack... undefeated together.
200 against BYU | 11:56 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Yo,time for the bro to ro!
RE: to WYO | 12:07 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Bold predictions for a team that tends to drop games... we will see. New Mexico owns the Utes and I would not be surprised to see them lose that game as well. People say that you have played weak teams because it is true. Congratulations on beating a bunch of bad teams to get your bowl streak (including Pitt)! We will beat you solidly by shutting down Lack, GO POKES!
Go Utes! | 12:50 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Utah by 5! One game at a time.
utah_man18 | 12:55 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Wow, "RE to WYO," Lack... did you think of that all by yourself? Just because you guys can't make any bowl games and when you do you lose them, don't go bashing our streak. I'm tired of talking about our losses, but how can anyone say that the injuries weren't the reason for those? Say what you will about our wins being against nobody ("Louisville, UCLA, and TCU are nobody") but let's just wait until the season ends to decide who's who. After all, bowl games are when teams play to, ideally, their full potential, and when Utah does we can't lose.
To Anonymous | 1:16 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
According to the drive charts included in the MWC website, CSU had 173 total yards in the first half and 118 in the second half. Was BYU playing their 3rd string defense in the first half? LOL.

CSU drove inside the BYU 10 yard line three times in the first half and came away with 3 total points. Thus, CSU was able to move the ball relatively well against BYU's first stringers, they just couldn't score many points.

Don't try and tell us that most of CSU's yards came against BYU's reserves.
Mack Truck | 1:19 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Mack is overrated? He hasn't ran against a good defense all year?

UCLA allows just over 100 yards a game in rushing defense. Mack had 19 for 107 and a TD. Against a stiff run defense in TCU that is 3rd in the conference in run defense the Mack Truck had another 100. And you people have the nerve to say he is overrated? Come on...I bet you have never put pads on in your life to know how hard it is to churn out 100 yards every game like Mack has when everyone on the other side of the ball is gearing up to stop you.

Grow up coUg fans!
WYO | 1:21 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Congratulations on losing three in a row, the last one to a horrible SDSU team. NEXT!

Anonymous (Cougar fan): Mack had 100 against TCU (albeit on a poor 3.2 ypc), but Utah was vanilla conservative and TCU knew what was coming. TCU IS a good defense. The BYU will find out tonight. TCU is fast, physical and hits hard.

Speaking of hard hitting defense, UCLA. Yep, that team has not been the same since they lost Ben Olson. Remind me again when they lost him? OH, that's right, when UCLA cam to SLC. Olson hasn't been the same since Sly Sylvester went WWF on him and Terrell Cole drilled him in the numbers.

RE: Re: to Wyo - Great job as an imposter Wyoming fan as a pussy cat from down south in disguise.

You know, the Michigan team you played in 84' was sure over rated to...come on coUgars, leave the Zoo and grow up a little would you.
about wyoming | 1:57 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Ok here we go again, every week fans of our opponent get on here and talk smack and every week we beat them soudly. Wyoming is not very good, simple as that. Their defensive stats are inflated. With the way utah runs the ball with Mack and company Utah will put up over 200 team rushing yards agains the pokes. I also look for utah to pass more this week with BJ having 2 more weeks to get the shoulder better. It really should be a urah route. But dont take my word for it just look at the line utah by 14.5. I say Utah 38 Wyo 16.
Mack for POY | 2:17 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
If D. Mack keeps it up he could be the offensive player of the year in the MWC. Who is more deserving? Chad hall (AF)? Maybe, we will see. Go utes. Dont hold back against brokeback this week lets hang 50 on em.
Note: | 2:20 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Quit replying to WYO as a Wyoming fan. The Cougarettes are in disguise, you bunch of silly geese, you. What a bunch of Jerry's Kids. Boy you sure fooled us!!
oregon ute | 2:41 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
wyo guy. 3 things. At least Utah goes to bowl games. Second, if your going to play in a bowl game at least Utah wins their bowl games and third is 44,000 screaming UTE fans will let you know you are in a real football stadium and not a cow pie.
RE: Oregon Ute | 3:07 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Did you not read the previous comment? I hear you, however, on a big win this Saturday. Just don't give BYWho the satisfaction of not seeing it. I don't think any Cowgirl fans even know how to use the internet, let alone navigate it.

p.s. Funny line about the cow pie!!!!
Re: WYO | 3:14 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Not WYOmania? Did you lose your zeal after last weekend? I saw posting on here last week BEFORE San Diego State...

Mack IS the best RB in the conference, but let's not get carried away. Wyoming IS the MWC's best run-stuffing team.

I'm not too worried about Cowboy fans talking trash over here. If their team demonstrates as little respect for our team as their fans have been showing on this thread, we won't NEED to beat them. They'll beat themselves. This is going to be a great game.

GO UTES!!!
Fan | 3:18 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Everyone give it the best they have and play hard and clean. Utes will prevail! Mack Truck will roll if everyone does the job at hand. GO UTES!
Hey Yewts!! (Yes, I'm a BYU Fan) | 3:40 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Good luck tonight in your contest to see who comes in 2nd to BYU in the MWC!!

You all blame injuries for losing to UNLV & Air Force? I thought Mack was the greatest. Last I checked, he played against UNLV. And I understand losing Johnson hurt, but you had a Senior QB as your backup and you still got shut out. If you are going to use excuses, at least make them good ones next time!!

BYU & Utah should win out to the big game, then BYU will finish off their 2nd undefeated conference year. Thanks for playing!!
we are fine | 4:04 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
RE: Hey Yewts!!! (Yes, I'm a BYU Fan)- During the loses to AF and UNLV we were still trying to overcome loosing Johnson, Asiata, R. Johnson on defense, Jiannoni on def., Gabe Long on def., and Casteel. When you take away our 3 top offensive weapons our starting safety, a starting DL and our best Linebacker it is tought to just overcome it in one game. THe Utes have adjusted well and inspite of the injuries have done really well in my opinion. No excuses. We are playing well right now and hope it continues.

pUssy cat coUgar fans need to grow up and get a life.
to hey yewts | 4:17 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
dude, we dont play tonight, we play on saturday. And thanks for the luck but we dont need it, and besides you dont have any to give. the 2006 BYU team used all of BYU's luck for the next 10 years on their best team in two decades to slip past an average Utah. We own you.
I cant wait | 4:21 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
I cant wait to head up to RES on saturday. I love shutting up the obnoxious cowboy fans, players, and joe glen. Its gonna be a great day. Mack will get 150 or he will get 100 and johnson will throw for 350. depends on how they want to beat the pokes.
RE: Hey Yewts!! | 4:35 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Keep running your mouths. It is palpable doubt and fear are seeping in. BYWho of old never talked all that much, if at all. We have retaken control of the series and that scares you. You would not talk so much if it were otherwise. November 24th is fast approaching. Beware.

p.s. Shhhhh, Be Still!!!!
Mack Attack!!!!!! | 4:40 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
I can't believe BY-Who fans are saying Unga is better than Mack!!!!!!! That is a total joke!!!!!! Mack has plenty more yards, has played in less games and was supposed to be a REDSHIRT this year!! Unga was already the starter in the offseason and everyone knew that. Mack came in and fricken crushed opponents! He will do the same on Saturday. 1,000+ yards with the MACK ATTACK!!!!

GO UTES!!!!

PS- UTAH-24 WYO-10
Re: Re: WYO | 5:30 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Yep, you called it regarding the Wyoming team gearing up to beat themselves this weekend. I heard a report earlier today that Coach Joe Glenn already "guaranteed" a Cowboy victory.

Oh, and to that BYU fan who remarked on our "senior" QB against UCLA...he was still inexperienced. That was his first start. He sat out the 2006 year due to transfer rules, and had no prior starts at Oklahoma.

I still can't explain UNLV though.
mack vs Unga | 11:48 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
The last 2 games solidified this argument. Unga couldnt break 100 vs CSU or TCU. have you noticed the pussycats haven't brought that argument up in a while??? Our back-up gained 123 agaisnt CSU on the same number of caries Unga had against them. TCU shut him down too.

Runningback Darrell Mack needs just 102 yards against Wyoming on Saturday to reach a 1,000-yard milestone — a rare feat in Utah history.
