The commuter rail project is 20 years to late and as long as the government is involved it will be inefficient and a burden to tax payers.

Ed and Barrett--Do you have any evidence to substantiate your claims? It's easy to sit back, complain and predict inefficiency.
Even though it is later than I would like, I applaud the government in finally getting moving on this. We need more viable ways of commuting than just I-15, and just using our cars.
If you don't like what the government is doing, get moving and get active in your community. Put forth other suggestions. Do something to help our overcrowded freeways (other than complaining or adding your own car to the problem).

Ok, then could you offer an alternative to ease the congestion on I-15? We are quickly approaching freeway gridlock and I'm not sure that commuter rail will do much to ease the situation, but short of building another highway, what other ideas exist? I sure hear a bunch of whining but not many helpful ideas are being introduced.

Ed and Barrett are just upset about gas prices, time to turn in those Hummers boys so we can all breath easier.

Better late than never! If Salt Lake wants to maintain its appearance as the business hub of Utah then it needs this type of commuter assistance. Transportation in the area is already stressed and it'll just increase over time, this is badly needed and will help the area continue to grow in a more manageable way.

We NEED a TRAX to Provo - think of all the good it will do to ease up the freeway traffic and the safety in bad weather - Bring it on as quickly as possible. If you have ever lived in Washington DC or Chicago, you would be thrilled to have mass transit.

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
