Looking into Utah Jazz's crystal ball

Question: Will the Jazz be able to keep all of their young talent?
Answer: No, in 2-3 years decisions will need to be made as Miller won't pay (or continue to pay as the case may be) 8 figure contracts to AK, Boozer, Memo, DWill, Millsap, and Brewer. The real question is who stays and who goes.

Dwill and Boozer are the anchors. They stay. Memo won't deserve a huge contract once this one is up. Brewer will be good, not amazing, so he won't sign for a ton. AK can go and Millsap can stay.

This was the stupidest column ever. I used to enjoy Rock's comments; but this just beat me over the head like a cold. I'd have to go with Monson and his long-winded questions over Rock. Seriously, get a real sense of humor or write something interesting.

Brad Rock is a total tool. Why do I keep reading his stuff?

The frustrating thing about the jazz is that it was clear from last year that we are one solid player away from being able to keep up with teams like San Antonio. Instead of getting that player to take the 2 guard spot, we just promoted from within and even if we make it to the western conference finals again the result will be the same?

To Frustrating: Who would you have added to the team this year and how would you have got them? Who was out there, available, that is better than who we have now?

That's what I thought! I wish people had the ability to reason and think for themselves and not just repeat some radio personality that thinks we need a new 2 guard. Most radio personalities and newspaper writers don't know anything about basketball anyhow and just repeat each other.

I love it when people with no experience whatsoever in journalism criticize writers, making sure to mispell a simple word lie "waste." It's a little like the Warriors putting posters of Baron Davis' dunk on all the seats at Oracle arena. Who won the series?...and the season opener?

Insightful and funny! Best article I've read all day. And I'm not sure what all the hating is about by other posters...heaven forbid someone makes a joke about the NBA.

Furthermore, I think the jazz took pretty good strides in addressing the two spot. Drafted Almond, and they are playing Brewer, who is about 497% better than D. Fisher was on Defense. We got beat last year by 2 guards all year long, not just in the playoffs. The Jazz can score from every other position on the floor, and Brewer put up 18 points in the opener (and had a couple steals). We needed a 2 guard that could defend, and Brewer is a huge upgrade!

Frustrating, the Jazz did everything possible to secure their 2-guard spot. They got versatile players such as Hart and high-flying Price in free agency who can play the 2. They also drafted sharp-shooter Almond in the draft and retained Gira for experience and Miles for his potential. AK and Harpring can play some 2, also. Brewer is doing excellent and for some odd reason you're frustated. Why? By promoting within, there's less money spent in getting high-profile free agents (not that there really was last year for the Jazz to get) and plus there's more chemistry by playing players already on the team.

As for those of you complaining about wanting a good SG...Get rid of Kirelinko for a decent SG, and bring Millsap to the starting line-up. He is definately more effective than the baby Andrei. The "Good" small forwards in this league are doing nothing compared to the good shooting guards. Ask McGrady, Allen, James, Redd, etc. Look at their stats from last year. Solve that problem... Small forwards aren't near as dangerous.
