I passed through Washington Square around 1:30 in the afternoon. Didn't see more than a hundred people. Not exactly a mandate from the people.

I participated in the rally and there were about 1000 participants, as printed. The march started at the capitol at noon and continued at the county city building until 3 pm. Surprisingly there were few if any counter protesters. The Idaho Peace Coalition had 2 full buses with a cross section of citizens of all ages. We also had an additional van for overflow participants. Kudos to the Salt Lake Police, they were so nice!

This was the first time I participated in a large demonstration and I must say it was the most noble day of the year. I am now more connected with the fact that we are at war. I met grandmothers of killed soldiers, vets from various wars, (including this war with Iraq), and came away more deeply convinced that we must pressure our government to withdraw from this illegal and immoral war. Rocky Anderson is a great leader and speaks fearless from his heart. Salt Lake City should be proud.

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
