I'm afraid that this is another road lobby wolf in sheep's clothing,
just as the transportation tax in Salt Lake county is turning out to be. Their
plan all along seems to have been to promote a road/transit bill with a fuzzy
description of who gets what, and then use the very road friendly legislature to
go after the bulk of the funds. But they promote it as an almost exclusively
transit tax, because they know that's what we really want and will vote
for.

Pardon my pedantry, but the Bamberger did not run to Cache County. Bamberger
WAS the center piece of the old electric interurban rail network, but was
confined to the 37 miles between SLC and Ogden. The Utah Idaho Central ran from
Ogden to Cache County. Bamberger was a real performer, being able to cover
it's 37 miles in one hour with up to 16 stops. Try that, Frontrunner!
That said, you are right in asking for a restoration of these rail routes. Also,
since North Salt Lake will get little benefit from Frontrunner, it would be
great if Trax could restore rail service into south Davis, using much of the old
Bamberger route which still exists under various ownerships.

The Bamberger was from Salt Lake to Ogden but I would like it to run from Cache
County to Nephi for now. My vision is for there now but in the future I like it
to run even further.

Anonymous you are totally correct. I am steamed I voted for Salt Lake
County's transit tax only to have those redneck clowns on the hill try and
redirect that money for roads.

The Morning News again wants to be our nanny. However, we should not listen.
Davis voted for a transportation tax a few years ago. Utah County did not vote
for it. Now in a move for even more money the chamber of commerce wants us to
vote for a undefined tax increase. No way!

I think some people on here better check their facts. The Bamburger railroad ran
all the way to Logan and all through Cache valley.
