Ralph Becker mentions class sizes should be reduced before investing in vouchers. Just a bit of info for the informed and uninformed, more than $200 (or is it $350 mill?) million has been invested in class-size reduction in the past few years. Where has the $$ gone??? Good question. Lest we forget, the legislature dumped more than $100 million to increase teachers salaries last year. Steps are being taken. So for anyone to say that public education has not received enough attention, I urge him/her to do some research before touting blanket claims. The legislature IS doing its job. It invested more than $2 BILLION in public education last year; the overall state budget was $11 billion. Furthermore, it increased public ed spending by $450 million last year. How have we so easily forgotten this? It's easy to point fingers. But what about looking at what HAS been done?!

The $100 million for teacher salaries has already been reduced. Teachers haven't seen any bit of it yet! Do your research before touting blanket claims.
