Campaign coffers swell for Cannon, his election rivals

PLEASE, 3rd CD, replace Cannon with someone who will stop pandering to and even encouraging illegal aliens. PLEASE elect someone who will push to secure our border and THEN work on needed immigration reform, not the other way around with yet another round of broken promises about border security never being fulfilled.

I can't wait to vote Cannon in for another term. He has served our state well. He listens to both sides of issues before making a vote. He works hard and has good values.

We need more people like him in Congress, supporting good values, but still able to work with congressmen from around the nation.

Charles H. take your uber-conservative rhetoric and go home. Cannon is (thankfully) here to stay!

I have to agree with Charles H. Look at Cannon's record; he is in favor of amnesty ever time.

Money can buy you anything in politics. Even an election!

Charles H. can't sit there and not say to himself that on his top issue, Cannon isn't a champion. Also, it's so odd that you decide to attack him on something that he has been trying to solve for years now.

Cannon is a good legislator and, if take the time to talk with him or look at his actual voting record, it's hard to argue that you would do anything differently.

Don't take your eye off the ball. Remember that almost all of Rep Cannon's campaign finance comes from his out of state supporters. The fact that he is an incumbent allows him to bring in far more out of state money than all of his opponents combined can bring in from their Third District supporters. Rep. Cannon has been trying to change his image on illegal immigration since he received his MALDEF Award, but don't forget that he is a co-sponsor of the AgJobs "Amnesty" Bill, presently being pushed in congress. A good candidate will push him out sooner or later. Sooner would be best.

You can't talk about out-of-state supporters without looking at the other guy's reports. Do a google search on Leavitt's supporters and I think you'll find it rather interesting. We're talking about attorneys that defend the worst of the worst - rapists, molesters, etc. In addition, most of his donations come from employees and family.

Jason's money is from Arizona. What's his connection there? Looks out-of-state to me.

let me get this straight, people in utah are giving chris cannon money ?? do you have any idea how much he has taken from the state and not put back?
his specialized retirement package that no other 'regular' american can have is enough alone to get him booted out for me ... share the wealth, put in new elected utahans each election, share this specialized retirement program that americans fund ... give more utahans a chance to bringing that wealth back to the state in their retirement checks ...

Randy- That's an awful argument! Utah has only 5 people in DC and EVERYTHING hinges on seniority. Meaning that we can't get things done without our reps staying in for a few years. Also, your point that Reps get some sort of special retirement - have you asked about that? They are on the same retirement plan any federal employee is on. That was changed 20 or more years ago.

Also, do you really want a bridge to nowhere like in Alaska? That's a waste of money. We have one of the most fiscally conservative delegations (with the exception of Matheson and even he is a moderate as far as budget is cocnerned). Look at the ratings from the groups the monitor that - Cannon is number 10 on the list of 435!
