How convenient for the Editorial writers to not disclose the use of tax dollars
to move the Newspaper Agency Corporation (Deseret News & Salt Lake Tribune)
operations from downtown Salt Lake City to West Valley City. Was this a new
company from outside the state? Were these new jobs? What about the negative
impact on downtown Salt Lake City which has been the expressed concern of the
Deseret News for some time? Not be outdone by the print media, KUTV took tax
dollars to uproot their opeation in West Valley City and move to downtown Salt
Lake City. Was this real economic development? One can't help but wonder
if the attitude toward a stadium would have been far different if the location
was downtown Salt Lake City. If there was true integrity in the words of the
editorial board, they would do the noble thing and repay the tax dollars that
were used to their advantage.
