I think that the DWR is still seeling to many tags. Lower the amount of tags for a couple of years and then see how the deer population grows!

Sanpete-for-life--I guess what you think they should do is better than what the people who do it for a living think.

Betty--First you can't shoot the little ones, and I am sure that I can find some things that you do that i don't agree with either. I am glad that we live in this country where each of us can do what we want to.

Hunters are the one protecting our habitat and wild animals. They stop poaching and the dedicated hunter program has many conservation projects that improve habitat for all species.

Why do we not go back to 3 point or better on the deer hunt? We also need to stop hunting doe. When we were hunting 3 point or better, I noticed the quality of bucks was a lot better. Over the past few years, I would say the deer herds in the souther region around the monroe mountain and fishlake area have been decimated. We need to stop killing does, and go back to 3 point or better. I also feel that the 40 hrs the dedicated hunter program wants is a complete rip off. I dont think that the funds that the sportsman are handing over to the fish and game are going to support a healthy deer herd. Are we trading deer for turkey? We better come up with a new strategy, cause this one is not working!!!
