Way to go SUU! For the 3rd year in a row, the Thunderbirds lead the system in enrollment growth. It's an amazing school with much to offer students considering where to go to college.

Many people are learning what some have known for a long time about SUU. It is a unique learning environment that feels like a very tight-knit private school community. I would recommend it for anyone who wants a great education with small class sizes, an engaging social atmosphere, and outstanding professors who know the names of all their students.

I went to SUU and loved every minute of it! I'm not surprised SUU's popularity is on the rise--they have great teachers, a beautiful campus, tons of opportunities for students, and above all, the resources and know-how to help every student on his or her personal journey. Best school in the state!

If the rolls are declining add more yeast. It is the yeast that makes them grow.

Good job SUU.

how can Dixie State be losing enrollment when they are the "fastest growing" small community in the nation, and have been given a name change and 4 year programs?? What is WRONG with this school, that they now want to become a branch of the Univeristy of Utah?

I remember what it cost me to go to to college and now as my daughter is getting ready to go 16 years later I cant believe what the costs are. Its about the same for my daughter to go to a private school as a state run one. If she cant get into the Y then she's going out of state.

Vouchers ARE the answer!

James: You were probably being sarcastic but you may be right.

Maybe the problem with university/college enrollment actually starts much sooner. Maybe young people are graduating from high school without good study habits and without the basic knowledge they need to succeed at the next level. Maybe this trend is a reflection of a dumbed down student population as a result of poor education policy in the public school system.

On the other hand, maybe this trend is just an aberration and there is no relationship, direct or indirect, between the performance of our public education industry and enrollment in state colleges and universities.

Does anybody know???

Follow the money...that is follow the marketing dollars spent by these three institutions. SUU has been dumping cash into marketing for years. Wasn't it just a couple years ago that USU paid someone over $100k to think up the "Think" campaign? Now UVSC (UVU) is in the same game. If Weber and Dixie were smart they'd spend big bucks on advertising too. But then it just escalates for everyone. It becomes a bidding war for the finite number of in-state students. Everyone needs to constantly "grow" except the UofU. I dare you to find out what the marketing cost per new student is as SUU! Tax dollars at work!
