I'm thinking maybe his name should not be published until his wifes family is notified....this does not even make sense....what if family members read this online??????

I agree. Wouldn't it be kind of obvious who his wife and children are to those who know him? DUH! Sometimes I wonder about the education journalists get. It's all about the story, forget the victims.

What?? | 2:36 p.m. Oct. 9, 2007
Where does it say that the wife's family wasn't notified? This happened yesterday and they are just confirming identities today. Usually the POLICE are the ones to notify the family and it is the POLICE's job to ensure the names are not released until the victim's next of kin have been notified. The media has nothing to do with it. DUH! Sometimes I wonder about the education the public gets. It's all about blaming the system, forget the facts.

Did you read the story? His wife and children were also killed in the crash. Sad story but don't get all over the media for publishing information that is important to the members of the family's community.

Once again, we are reminded how dangerous our highways are. Not having your children secured in safety seats is a crime -- and they paid the ultimate price. It is so sad, but hopefully other families in Utah will read the story and start buckling up their children and babies -- it might have saved their lives. My heart goes out to the families of these people, what an immense loss -- and after just having had a new baby too. Very sad.

and to "to names of family writer"

You made the same logic error that "What??" did. The first poster noticed that, initially, only the husband's name was released until (presumably) the wife's family was notified. Follow?

The first story said they would not release names until the families have been notified. The families were notified and then the names were released. Makes sense to me.

I know the sister of Dulce, and they were notified quickly of this tragedy. Her mother lives in Michoacan, Mexico and was flying in today not know ing what actually happened.

In News Across Site

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
