Bring troops home, protesters urge

The first thing we need to do is bring the troops home; the next thing is rather obvious, and that is for the House of Reps to introduce articles of Impeachement against Bush and Cheney, and than the Senate try them both on charges of lying to the American People.

The '60s ended almost 40 years ago.

Apparently these people didn't get the memo.

Although I'm adamantly opposed to the socialism and such supported by groups like MESJ, they have nevertheless touched on some truths here. I'm no pacifist and I favor maintaining a strong defensive capability--however, I also strongly believe that wars should be fought ONLY in national self-defense and I likewise reject notions that "enforcing U.N. resolutions" or "getting the other fella BEFORE they get us" are just reasons to initiate wars with other nations. And, this being the case, our government did not have sufficiently-just reason to go to war with Iraq.

In fact, in general, I have come to believe that our nation's current foreign policy has gotten terribly off-track and urgently needs to be re-based on sound principles of non-interventionism. I have Ron Paul to thank for opening my eyes about this. It seems ridiculous to me that our government speaks of liberating Iraq while upholding oppression in Saudi Arabia and fights Afghanistan for harboring al-Qaida while allying with Pakistan's military dictatorship that is now doing essentially the same thing. Or that our government uses our taxes to build up nasty people like Hussein and bin Laden only to fight them later. This is ridiculous and needs to change.

The Crusades ended over 700 years ago.

Apparently some people didn't progress past that.

"Just a note"...Vietnam ended a while back, too. I kind of thought we were done with pointless wars.
