This is a fantastic concept for the millions of uninsured families in the US! I
believe that Blue Cross in the state of South Carolina is covering overseas
treatment, because it saves them a bundle as well. Additionally, it works for
folks wishing treatment that insurance companies normally will not cover - for
weight loss, etc.

There's no need to go all the way to Asia for low-cost and first-class
healthcare. Thousands of US, Canadian and other international patients go to
nearby Cuba every year for medical care, like a friend who returned last week
after getting orthopedic surgery in Havana. He was thrilled with the results.
He saved about 80 percent off what it would cost at an American hospital. There
are medical tourism firms, like Choice Medical Services, helping consumers go to
Cuba.

I had a nose surgery (rhinoplasty) recently in Thailand. The price was much much
much cheaper than in the US. Obviously no insurance would cover cosmetic surgery
costs so I had to pay everything out of my pocket. In the US the cost was
outrageous. So I took to the Internet and did some research before I learnt that
I could get the same top US quality service outside of the US for thousands less
than what it would cost in the US. Helped by my medical tourism facilitator,
Healthbase, I set on a trip to Thailand for affordable world class surgery. I
can't tell enough about the great service they have there in Thailand. The
doctors are so experienced. The facilities exceed US standards. The recovery
rooms are comparable to five star hotels. I got all this and airfare, travel,
sightseeing, etc. at a fraction of the cost in the US. Healthbase even helped me
get a medical loan. So all you uninsured people, you now have an affordable
option. Good luck!!
