It's the fact that he supported the rights of gay scoutmasters, when he serve on the BSA National Committee.
It's the fact that he voted to allow Marriot to show pornographics pay-per-views, while serving on the Marriot Board of Directos.
It's the fact that as the 70th governor of Massachusetts, he signed into legislation the largest measure of gun control for handguns and assault rifles, that any state could ever enforce.
Rudy Giuliani is pro-choice. That's cool. At least he is honest about it. When Romney ran against Ted Kennedy, he said he was pro-choice. Ted Kennedy told him that he was "multiple-choice", referring to his flip-flops. Truth be told, Romney now claims to be pro-life.
Again, as the 70th governor of Massachusetts on January 2, 2003. Upon entering office, Romney enacted $1.3 billion in a capital gains tax increase.
Romney supported raising various fees by $500 million per year, including raising fees for driver's licenses, marriage licenses, and gun licenses. Romney increased the state gasoline tax by 2 cents per gallon. Romney approved another $181 million in additional business taxes from 1994-1996.
In February of 2004, Mitt Romney supported a State Ammendment allowing same-sex civil unions.
I can't suggest who the Democrats vote for (Barrack, Hillary, Edwards, whomever...) because I'm not a Democrat. Thier primary is not my business. But as a Republican, I can help decide who we as a party will send to our convention. This is not about Mitt or McCain or whomever running aginst Hillary. It's about our party's primary.
I support Sen. Fred Thompson.
Re flip-flops and Mitt Romney:
In a recent PBS lecture, Wayne Dyer quoted: "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." In effect, what one believes on Monday need not be what one believes on Wednesday, if on Tuesday, something happens to change one's mind. Using one's intelligence to reassess facts or beliefs is the mark of a thinking person. America needs thinking people.
However, changing beliefs, stances, or platforms numerous times in an attempt to cater to a different set of registered votes (i.e., liberal beliefs to liberal Massachusetts and conservative beliefs to the Republican primary) is not an example of reassessment. It is the mind of a person with no conviction, who just wants to get votes.
George Romney was the same way. He never fooled the GOP.
,I read somewhere that, "Whatever you give your energy to, that is what you will get back!" and in saying that, I would love to believe that the energy we give to anything or anyone is going to be the right one for us.
I know this will help me decide who I want to lead into office. Oh, and in closing, I live in Sydney, Australia.
Even though I am not a fan of Mr. Romney nor his faith, I would suggest that some of you consider moving to northern Idaho where you might feel more comfortable with the political and religious climate there!
I don't understand why people get their shorts in a twist when someone realizes they are mistaken and changes to a better point of view. Mitt is not a flip-flopper. He learned something and changed his mind for the better. What's wrong with that? Nothing unless you are filled with venom and suspect everyone of evil. Have you never wised up even once in your life?
I hope Mitt gets on the ticket. I think he's an intelligent, well-educated, thoughtful man with integrity and a solid, supportive family. The more I learn of his positions, the more I like him.
He would also be a great spokesman for the conservative point of view. We get pummeled in the press and mocked continually, but the things conservatives stand for are good--family values, decency and fairness, lower taxes and less regulation, defending our beloved nation, its borders, and those we hold dear.
We need him to pull us out of the mess we're in today. If Hillary/Soros/Obama/Edwards gets into office, we will find ourselves moving down a slippery slope into hell--their version of socialism with its resultant loss of freedom and happiness. We need to support Romney or whoever else is the nominee and can prevent their takeover.
I have children the same age as Fred lil' ones. I know he's a good father, and considers families as the central party of the Republican Party.

I will not vote for John McCain. That doesn't mean than I'm against former POWs or veterans. Is simply feel John McCain is too liberal for me.
I will not vote for Rudy Giuliani. That doesn't mean that I don't support or honor the firefighters and police of New York City that helped lift the city from the ruins of September 11th. I simply fell Rudy Giuliani is too liberal for me.
Choosing not to vote for Mitt Romney, doesn't mean that you are anti-Mormon. It doesn't mean that you are an Evangelical Redneck. This is a dishonest gimmick that Mitt Romney is using in his campaign. Its pretty old now.
To suggest that being anti-Romney is the same as anti-Mormon, is to imply that Romney represents all Mormons or somehow speaks for all Mormons. He does not. I am proud of my membership in the Church. I am happy that I have an eternal family. I am also proud to be a member of the Republican Party. I consider myself conservative, pro-life, and in favor of traditional marriage. It is in those beliefs, that I cannot support Mitt Romney. He does not reflect my beliefs.
