Such good examples.
We need more like them!
Well, I respectfully disagree. Romney's faith, just like Joe Liebermans faith, is irrelevant to his political leanings as history as a public servant.
Most voters, or should I say - most Republicans - already know of Mitt Romney, and know that he is a liberal who does not reflect the values or concerns of the GOP. He is a fringe leftist who has a history of championing liberal causes. If his wife is anything like him, then it's comforting to know that they both with stay in Boston after Mitt concedes the GOP Primary to a conservative candidate (probably Fred Thompson). Who knows, maybe Sen. Clinton will add him to her ticket.
Your liberalism seems to trump your intelligence. Too bad. Stop relying on DNC daily e-mails for you info. To state that somehow Fred Thompson is more conservative than Mitt Romney (not that FT isn't somewhat conservative) has exposed you as someone who refuses to research that on which you have already formed an (ignorant) position. It's too bad the country has as many of you as it does.
Have a good day!
Not to me. I don't want a Mormon president. To me, the religion is a fairy tale, and I can't respect a president who subscribes to it.
(Donning asbestos suit...)
You said: "I don't want a Mormon president. To me, the religion is a fairy tale, and I can't respect a president who subscribes to it."
Mormonism is no more a fairy tale than Catholicism, Protestantism, Judaism, Islam, agnosticism, or atheism. The fact is, all of us (including you) choose which values, stories, lifestyles, and assumptions we want to embrace. Rather than make bigoted comments about a candidate's religious choices, I encourage you to join the twenty first century and learn to respect people with different values than your own.
"In the online magazine Slate a while back, editor Jacob Weisberg called Joseph Smith, Mormonism's founder, an "obvious con man" and wrote, "Romney has every right to believe in con men, but I want to know if he does, and if so, I don't want him running the country." Thus a third argument that religion can't be a private affair for a presidential candidate: what a person deeply believes says something about his or her character, which voters may wish to take into account. ...
"Proceed with caution here, of course. Every religion is full of doctrines and beliefs that may seem nutty to outsiders. Jesus could be seen as a snake-oil salesman if you don't buy the snake oil. Weisberg says Mormonism is different because it is so "recent," involving miraculous events in the 19th century in upstate New York. Well, I dunno. The patina of age may explain why Jesus' walking on water is easier to believe than Smith's golden plates and magic glasses. But it doesn't go far in justifying the distinction. For me, any candidate who believes in the literal truth of the Old Testament, the New Testament, the Book of Mormon or the novels of Jane Austen is probably too credulous to be President."
AMEN!!!!!!
You definitely have a good point. I'm supporting Mr. Romney, but you would think he's already president by the exclusive focus Deseret Morning News puts on the guy.
Maybe they should do an article on the person who would take over Laura Bush's position if Hillary got elected....

Well, actually to me it is. Much more so. And as a life long resident of this fine state who knows LDS "theology" pretty darn well, and as someone who has studied mainstream religion a great deal, I am perfectly justified in holding this opinion, and i have no reservations in holding it.
I don't expect, nor ask, you to agree with me.
But don't tell me I am bigot because my education leads me to come to the same conclusion about this "religion" that millions of other people have come to.
There are times when calling people a bigot is probably warranted. this is not one of them. Simply saying you disagree with me, will do just fine!
