If these are actual "Violations" of current Sandy City code the drivers should be punished. If not, there needs to be some consequences for Mr. Ricci calling the police hundreds of times each day to complain. He needs to understand that the Police have a job to do. They are not his errand-boys he can call hundreds of times a day to complain about his neighbors. Police need to be available to protect the public if needed, not tied up being his pawns in this vendetta against "big box" stores.
If Sandy City officials give in to the pestering and change city ordinances to make what is currently happening a "violation" what will Sandy City stores do? Sneek their inventory in when Mr Ricci isn't looking? Require trucks delivering to Sandy stores have their backup-beepers removed and super-sensative mufflers installed and air-brakes temporarily disabled?
What will it take to stop the complaints? If you fix the noise problem I dare say he will find another complaint. He doesn't want big-box stores in his neighborhood.
Instead they gave Mr. Ricci the worst, they took all his view and left him with the niosy semitruck loading dock and garbage trucks!
Back when Magna Const. went for their zoning change to commercial they showed a low impact development to acquire permits, they later pushed for bigbox!
Then on top of all that craftyness they dumped 8 feet of fill dirt on the property without permits! What little veiw they could have preserved was then gobbled up by the illegal dumping,Sandy City gave commercail permits to Magna making thier property worth millions more, while taking value away from Tramway residents! Plus the planning department stated Albertsons was going to be a 'good neighbor', and was to be the anchor of the devlopment. Albertsons plans showed small buildings attached to the south-end, Which now is a Homedepot! Lied to and robbed, while Magna made millions!
Albertsons has not been a good neighbor, and had no involvement with the gate being installed! A "good nieghbor does'nt bar citizens from using their store!
AS Gary's neighbor I can tell you he is a caring one! Sandy City Police Department and City Council treatment to him has been 'unsatisfactory' to say the least! They've taken away his Civil Rights in Sandy. He presented Sandy with an honest issue that they've ignored for too long!
Straighten facts before making accusations about poeple calling the emergency lines hundreds of times each day, exaggeration holds no merit!
Maybe you should buy Gary's home, or rent it for a year! Maybe you'd understand! Don't put out Fires with Comedy Chief!
When Magna Developement illegally dumped the fill dirt on the LittleCottonwood Center they did Sandy City a huge favor, that fill dirt came from Wasatch Blvd., how convenient! City favors and campaign contributions for Dolan's administration, equals Magna recieving any permits neccesary!
Sandy City Officials dropped the ball when it comes to protecting residents property values, the continual catering to BigBox developers in Sandy City is something that needs to be addressed by an outside Govt. agency!
The Dolan admin. will do anything for tax dollars even if that means smothering Sandy residents with dumpsters and loading docks! Maybe Sandy City should take a look at the outdated ordinance and make nessecary changes to protect residents from allnight delivery's! Make the fines bigger it will only serve as a good thing for safety and preservation of peace between 9pm-7am! Do we as a City need to have semi trucks roaring up and down our streets at 3 or 4am in the morning? It's time for Sandy officials to stop comparing thier own less intrusive home situations to people they crush with 24 hour supercenters! Sandy officials have no ability to put themselves in those residents Shoes!Do they?
He actually compared his home situation of buying heavy drapes to lesson the effect of some kind of lighting outside his home,to the neighbors living behind the Little cottonwood centers loading docks, smelly deisel semi trucks, and dumpsters. Stating "sometimes we just have to adjust"
Where can I find some drapes to make Albertsons and Home-Depot go away?
