And thanks to Bob Bernick, for zeroing in on our current mayor's hypocrisy. His son certainly was a young teen when he ran for Congress. I'd imagine that job takes a lot more travel time (back and forth to Washington, late night votes on the Hill, etc.) than being the mayor would.
I'd love to see every parent in the city get out and vote for Wilson.
I hope other voters see her strength and willingness to fight for true progressive values in the mayor's office!
But then again, how can we possibly expect ANYTHING else from our dear Rocky, whose past bad judgement includes once considering the problem of abandoned shopping carts in neighborhoods and deciding that the best approach was to fine the stores whose carts were stolen and abandoned? (Since when do we punish the victims of theft for getting their own stuff stolen?!)
I, for one, am counting the days until Rocky is out of office. He's been nothing but an embarassment to SLC since he was elected.
In turn, are there not choices made by office holders that in turn have a direct impact on time available for their families? For example, the current mayor has focused on a national agenda that has required significant out of state travel.
Would it be all bad to have a mayor shift the focus and energy to the pressing needs of neighborhoods here at home. There are serious needs in the various neighborhoods of the City and to have a mayor bring focus, energy and resources to addressing those concerns, in my opinion, would be a plus.
