Fortunately, I'm not a crooked politician and I don't aspire to be one. However...I am an atheist. :)

I would vote for an atheist if...wait...nope...there's no situation where I'd vote for an atheist. Unless the only other choice was Hillary Clinton.

why would I vote for an atheist? I would if they thought it was fine for others to believe and didn't make fun of others beliefs. "Let them worship how, where or what they may". I would consider it a factor, as I would like someone that would pray, if I wasn't selecting someone I didn't trust.

I'm not exactly looking for atheist candidates, but if the Bush administration is what we can expect when the believers take control, then give me someone who says he's just here to serve the people under the principles of the Constitution. The LAST thing I want from my elected representatives is a declaration of what God wants.

Senator Clinton says she's a United Methodist. But, whatever.

It's funny that the article is about how religion is transmitted in code during elections in Utah.

The article itself transmits the religion of two SLC mayoral candidates. Interesting. Now I am curious about the religion of the other two main contenders.

The religionists in this country have an issue with atheists, perhaps because atheists are more inclined to think of this great nation as a whole - not just what some god wants - [who hasn't been heard from in eons, perhaps because he is still enjoying his wrestling match] Furthermore, I would rather be an atheist than believe that Balaam actually had a talking donkey - in a book that your god dictated.
