Week puts democracy in spotlight

I can't help but laugh at the complete irony that this article is on the
same page as another that 100% ignores a candidate for mayor who fits this
principle perfectly. You will notice the absence of JP Hughes from the
discussion of mayor for SLC. Want to know why? At one of the first meetings the
media held with candidates the FIRST question was..."how much are you
willing to spend for this election?"...translation..."how much are you
going to pay me as the media outlet to give you airtime". It has NOTHING to
do with ideals, principles, or democracy. It is all about MONEY! You can buy
anything in this world with money and the Deseret News proves that all to
perfectly. It's sad that democracy, much like this article encourages, is
lost to money and filling the pockets of the media.
