As a family member, let me ask why the writer of this story did not check his or her facts before printing a myth. Vee was born in 1917 and her father died in 1937 - both documented facts. Vee was 20 years old when her father died. She was not the sole provider for her family, as reported. She did contribute a little to her mother as did other brothers and sisters. Why was Beverly White(not a family member)quoted and actual family members not contacted before the story was printed? My Aunt Vee deserves credit for her political contributions but personal details about an individual should be based on facts and not political myths. I would appreciate a response from the writer of this article.
